Been through the funeral thing too many times in the last year or so; know what you are going through and know how important it is to do. As others have said, take the time you need to get through it. Also, use the time in the sun of Fl to recuperate from your illness. Then you can come back and BRING THE THUNDER BIG TIME!!

I have found in the not-so-distant past how funerals can become bridges to family members that I haven’t spoken with recently. In the past three years I have been to five funerals and with each I have reestablished old ties.

Enjoy the time with your family and remember the good times with those who aren’t with you any longer.

QOTD: Now that I know why you’re gone, I don’t miss you as much. Actually, I just got back to the mainland myself a couple of days ago (jet lag). We’re behind you 100%! My 2 teenage girls and I love you, your sister (the fabulous teacher who gives much back to society and our country), your mom and dad (who raised a very good boy who cares about people), and your lil’ brother AJ (who has great entreprenurial instincts, just a chip off the block of the ORIGINAL model, big bro’ Gary). Because I have already received so much positivity and humor out of you, yours, and your show, while you were with us, for me, it has been more of a wait versus a “missing.” Thanks for sharing your wine knowledge, your spirit, and your “joie de vivre” with us, Gary!!!!!

Totally missed you, Gary….BUT what you are doing is more important that a podcast. I must confess that I’m so far behind on watching the shows that I just watched this one today. I didn’t put two and two together as to why iTunes hadn’t downloaded more episodes. I figured I would see it when I got to ep367. I’ll be watching 367 over the weekend or Monday on my commute.

Not sure what more I can add over the many eloquent, touching tributes and well-wishes written here. I just had a very close family friend die on Jan 2, so I know the feeling. Beyond the many individual things that make you unique and dear, I miss the feeling I get when seeing all those things together – which forms the essence of the show, the store, and your positive effect on so many people. Prayers and light to you and your family. Have a safe return whenever you choose, and like many others have said, we’ll still be here. -CK
