OMG! Just had the 04 Delas Herimtage Bessard last night, I have to say that it’s the most balanced and well made wine I’ve ever tasted. The balance is crazy and combined with a ton of subtle lovely nuances it makes it almost worth the price tag ($110 is still quite above my normal range).

QOTD: Pats win, but I’m no good at guessing scores

Admittedly, I’m a lurker, but I watch on iTunes, so to comment is an extra step away from the convenience of having the podcast in the first place, but Gary seems so down, I had to come comment!

That’s one small step for Mott, one giant leap, for Mott’s Kin.

3>2 in a snow storm, Pats.

If I may be so fortunate to recommend another MacPrice Meyers wine it would be his “Les Gallet” Syrah 2005. If you like cooler climate syrahs, look no further.
A great example of how the “scores” are just wrong sometimes. And then to add to the hype, the 2006 wines (yet to be bottled) will rock you world probably more than the 05’s. Believe it!!
It is good to live on the central coast!!!!

QOTD: While I’d love to be ignorant like Plax and say the Giants will win in a low scoring game, it’s just not likely AT ALL! Are you kidding me, in cold(ish) weather at Giants stadium in week 17 the score was higher than that!! If I’m Brady, I’m staring down perfect weather conditions on an imaculate field in Tempe. Pats 38, Giants 24. Unless the Pats give up 2+ turnovers (Yes, San Diego blew their opportunity), it is just highly unlikely to see the flip happening. And believe me, I hope it’s the other way around.

Nonetheless, Go G-men! (And the Browns will kick ass next year!)

Excellent show! As for the QOTD, I live in Indiana, and so don’t really have an emotional investment in the East Coast Bowl (I was thrilled with the I-65 Bowl last year). But I’m thinking that the Pats will win… all signs point to it. But you never know what will happen. That’s why they play the game. I’d be thrilled with an upset.

Too much of anything can be sickening, especially with wine! Great show, thanks for rolling out the big guns today.

QOTD: I really want the Patriots to go down in a big way…but my prediction is:

Gary, think ’80’s style, alla 49ers and Joey M, Roger Craig and the best ballroom dancer of them all – Jerry Rice….. Pats and my west coast boy Brady, in a blowout, 55-10!

Nice episode by the way. I love the big Red wines, tannins and all. Cabernet all the way (or maybe a meritage or two).

  • Howard

    Giants~14
    Pats~35

    Sorry Mott…it is a blow-out in the making….

Man GV….I know your feeling on that Hermitage….I had that same happy face this weekend at a tasting…..it was a Vina Cobos 2004 Malbec Mendoza Perdriel Marchiori Vineyard …..Paul Hobbs really scored on this one…

It smelled like Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Black-Berries and Carmel sauce…..I could have smelled it all day!…then when it hit my palette,,,,well I was in Heaven!

  • Pats are just too good, so … PATS! BUT, they wone a few of those games by the skinny-skin-skin of their teeth, SO, anything can happen!

It’s just ONE game … you don’t have to be better than any team in general, just play better for ONE game!
