OMG! Just had the 04 Delas Herimtage Bessard last night, I have to say that it’s the most balanced and well made wine I’ve ever tasted. The balance is crazy and combined with a ton of subtle lovely nuances it makes it almost worth the price tag ($110 is still quite above my normal range).

    Hola! Reforming lurker trying to break the habit! Great episode, indulging in some Thunder! Love it. The big swig from the Hermitage was awesome, the little ‘hang on a sec’ gesture was pretty rad too. I was digging how much you were savoring that wine. The nothern Rhone rocks for sure. big Cote Rotie fan. And Vaqueras and Rasteau in the south also. I’m now dying to try the McPrice. The T-vines Grenache from Napa is a perenial Favorite. Thanks for being GV and providing show!
    Pats are going to bring the Thunder on Sunday, btw. They may actually win the Presidency this year!

    Would love to say Giants, being a long time fan, but realistically, I think the Pats will wine. If it’s over by halftime, won’t have to worry, will just drink more wine!!!

    31-20 Patriots. Let’s not forget that the right side of the Patriots offensive line was “hurt” for the last Giants game, and the leftside starters made Umenyiora disappear. With all five starters playing against the Giants “difference makers”, well, good night Giants.

    Gary – keep the show going. How else will we discover these emerging regions like Santa Barbera? If you had a trip to visit 10-15 wineries in a region like this, you could easily get 30 Vayniacs to go with you. I know that with enough lead time, I would go.

My bro and I aren’t actually fans of it, though I am a HUGE petite sirah fanatic, but I really wanted to hear what the expert had to say before I shelled out that much (as you would say, half a bottle of the Hermitage worth). So thank you SO much.

    BTW, went out for steak yesterday and had the Franciscan on the wine list ($48), but split it with 3 coworkers and we were all very happy with the quality of that wine even after the restaurant markup. They were impressed.
