i once picked up a ”almost” empty plate of stone crab claws from a table , I ran quickly as possible behind the bar(the staff buffet hiding spot)… i had it cold 🙂 cutting 2-3 of my fingers just to break the shell but is was worth the effort,.it was soooo sweet ( with a aioli and muscat sauce) !!!

Seriously, though, before I stopped eating shellfish, while lobster, mussels, oysters, and crawfish all had their place, there was nothing more satisfying than sitting down with a couple pounds of spiced, steamed shrimp, shell-on, and going at it with my family, a big bowl for the shells, and a bunch of cocktail sauce. Mm, mm, mm.

Once again a very informative show to help expand your viewers palates. My wife and I have tasted a few wines from the regions presented and have enjoyed them all. You’re right! Portugese wines are a great value and bring serious “thunder” as you like to say.
QOTD: Any shellfish is good, but if I have to choose, clams are my favorite-raw, with a good sauvignon blanc, chablis or white burgundy.

Great song. Don’t think I could get past the pig crap nose on the Domain Bila. That is one smell that makes me nauseated. Great song from Sarah. Hope she writes a few more stanzas. How about a metal version?

Favorite shellfish; I live near the Chesapeake Bay so it has to be blue crabs though really good oysters will also do it for me.

Love the value driven shows! I have just started exploring Southern France and Portugal (pretty pathetic since I am a Portugee) but I agree- great QPR wines and a fabulous way to “step outside the box”.
