Is there a problem with iTunes & downloading? Or is it just my computer? The former option makes me sad- I love hard cider and I can’t get the episode (slow internet connection makes iTunes necessary, so I can download while I sleep)! The latter would make me very very sad.

QOTD: I like having wine with my father, but he can’t drink anymore. My boyfriend is also a wonderful person with whom to drink anything. We go the full bit with wine: the sniffy-sniff and etc.

Great show today – although, I’ve had that Pinot Gris and I was pretty bored by it. NOT an 89 point wine, at all. Try Cardwell Hill – half the price, twice the citrus and floral notes.

QOTD – well, I love drinking wine with every and anyone. But, many folks think I get too “wine nerd” on them, no matter the bottle. So, I really enjoy opening stuff with two of my great friends, Jeff and Todd. We all speak the same wine language and are all equally content to spend hours doting over bottles and sniffing our glasses until we’ve found every last component on the nose. I also like having a glass or two while I watch Gary’s show….feels like I’m part of the action that way.

To all…I’ve said this more than once…but I really really enjoyed my time on the show and all of the people I met while I was there. The staff at the Wine Library were all first rate people with excellent customer courtesy. I hope that any and all of you will look me up should you find yourself comming up into Maine.

  • Thank you all for the great comments. Yes, I do still adore the Kelham Chardonnay and being $50 a bottle it’s not an every night wine for me…regardless what you might think. I am certainly not rich, or P-ditty rollin’ as Gary likes to say. However, their wines are wines that I do treasure…The same as I do with the Bartlett wines.

Oh…and I just figured out the purpose of putting a website on here…I may know wine…but I still need work on the internet stuff.

GV, what an inspirational story! Makes me want to leave the vertiginous glamour of higher education bureaucracy and fulfill my dreams of raising bunnies for family slaughter in my backyard to reduce my carbon imprint and starting up a chicken and duck gizzards kebab stand along the Greenpoint waterfront or out of the back of a dinghy cruising up and down Newtown Creek.

I enjoy drinking most with my wife, a somewhat capricious vixen under the influence of red wine. I also have a couple of close friends who are some of the very few people who will eat blood sausage with me and sully the rims of their wine glasses with pork fat and kasha while toasting the great Witold Gombrowicz.
