QOTD – Craft Beer, both from professionals and homebrewers, and that’s why I really have been getting into the Thunder show the last week. I see alot of Gary’s points carrying over to the beer world.

QOTD – What am I passionate about? – making and enjoying my home made pies with friends and family. My last two pies – a mock rhubarb with 2 kinds of apples, really fresh frozen raspberries and lots of lemon zest AND second pie – fig with apricot, pear, walnut and a little candied ginger. Seek out REAL pie – not the commercial junk – you won’t regret it. Better yet – try it yourself.

QOTD- I am pasionate about the soul, the small of a women’s back, high fiber good wine, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent overrated crap. That Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. That there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing astroturf and the designated hitter. that opening your presents Chritmas morning rather than Christmas eve is good, and I am passionate about long, slow, deep, wet kisses that last for three days……………..and puppies

Great show as always. Sorry I will not be able to make the Wash Wine thing! I so wanted to! I would have brought a Walla Walla Syrah 2003- Renninger, Cougar Crest, or Zerba. Maek sure to try some Cougar Gold cheddar while in Washington.

I’m doubling up on comments today, as I was unable to leave one yesterday, and I really liked the question. So I’ll start with that. My fun fact of the day (yesterday to be precise) is something I recently encountered in a book about wine. I read that there are over 500 chemical compounds found in wine. The same chemical compounds that give flavor and smell to various organics found on this planet. So when we smell or taste bell pepper (for example) from a cab sauv it’s because we are actually smelling or tasting the same chemical components that give bell peppers their inherent flavor. How awesome is that? All this time I thought it was all in my head.
QOTD (today): I’m passionate about music. Right now specifically The Mars Volta. Talk about a band that brings the thunder!
