    QOTD–I can honestly say that right now Spy Valley is my favorite Sauv Blanc. It is so approachable and, as you said “fun”. I can open it for all my friends who know little about wine and blow their heads off. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to understand what a tropical fruit forward wine smells and tastes like

    I’m not drinking any Blancs right now. I decided half-way through the episode that I’d get whatever came out on top. Since that plan fell through, I’m getting a Spy Valley bottle. Why? It has the word “Spy” in the title. How can one go wrong there?

    QOTD: I love sauvignon blanc. We are getting mostly New Zealands. Also love Sancerre. Albarino has a sauvignon-like feel. I still love chardonnays – comfort food when they’re not too oaky.

    QOTD: I absolutely love Sauvignon Blanc. Extremely refreshing lighter wine for almost every day drinking…especially with the weather right now down here in Texas. Right now I’m hooked on one Sauvignon Blanc. The Alpha Omega Sauvignon Blanc. It is incredible in my opinion…but is a bit pricey for what it is. I just purchased a bunch of it at the winery this past fall so I’ve got quite a bit of stock in that before I move on to other producers.

  • I ADORE Sauvignon Blanc – I’d take it over Chardonnay ANY day! One of the best Sauvignon Blancs I’ve had is from Lancaster Estate in the Alexander Valley… delicious! A great, balanced nose hit me with pineapple and citrus, while the flavor was hints of peaches and apricots. A tart and somewhat creamy finish reminds me of lemon meringue pie.

    QOTD- Like sav blanc??? Try LOVE Sav Blanc. Hands down THE best qpr of any varietal. Also, it has some amazing benchmarks from Sancerre. I have been drinking CROSSING from NZ. ps. grab some goat cheese with it. YESSSSS!! that is want food and wine pairing is all about.

  • Even in Germany, the old Riesling-Area, Sauvignon Blanc is becoming more important and there are some tremendous Sauvignon Blancs and even Sauvignon Blanc x Riesling Blends to buy.
    And i share your opinion that the white bordeaux vom Pessac-Leognan are normally underestimated. I tasted a wide range of white Pessacs 2005 at the german wine trade fair two weeks ago and some were really extraordinary.
