QOTD: Having just come from a week in Collioure tasting wines from the Roussillon, I would have to say this is it. I’ve never had so many gorgeous wines for under 12 bones in my life. Seek them.
It would have been better if there were live chickens in that cage behind you. Then everyone would have gotten to experience the smell of some real “terroir”. Or at least some chicken coop poop!
That was completely awesome, now i’m totally jealous I didn’t get to get out there. On a sidenote, you really should invest in a live studio audience, that was great.
Gary, thanks for explaining how to tell if a wine will hold up or not. Armand & I have been wondering and were glad to know that it’s what we thought. Good episode! And “our” interview is coming – am having trouble uploading it to Viddler (keep getting ‘encoding error’).
WOW, GREAT SHOW, ONE OF THE VERY BEST!
There has to be more shows like that. Go with a live audience from time to time.
I did buy a few 2004 Bordeaux’s after you began to rave about them. I’m too broke after buying 2005 futures (mostly at WL of course).
Gary, amazing episode. The audience makes all the difference – what energy! I think you’re ready for your close up, Mr. DeMille. Food Network is calling! Heck, ESPN is probably calling (and I have a friend there).
Why did Mott link up the Mitolo GAM though? Typo?
Nice episode, a chance to see the fun from last week.
QOTD – I’m not too ambitious, so the only opportunity I don’t want to miss is enjoying family and friends while we’re all still here, and long may it continue.
Hi Guys, that looks like you had fun…. hey Mott, love the Mitolo Gam, but what up with the link? did you have it after you turned off the camera? also, where the heck are the pictures?
QOTD: anything GREEN, really, trust me… oil will cost $200 and run out eventually… go aolic guys. (geothermal too)
GREAT SHOW! Kudos. QOTD: The Internet … getting yourself out there!
The audience adds a great touch GV!
QOTD: Greatest opportunity is getting involved with the wine industry in China. 5 years from now…you’ll be glad you did!
Where’s the link to the couch pictures? ? ? ?
Fun show, great wines!!
What a great show! Great to have the Vayniacs in the audience.
QOTD: I have no idea.
Nice show, it looks like you guys were having fun
That was a great show. Fun and informative. I particularly enjoyed the audience participation. Thanks Gary and the Vayniacks.
We really wanted to meet you at Seattle Wine Storage, but we had tix to Hops and Props. You’ve really turned us on to the ’04 Bourdeaxs – Thanks!
Great show. It was great to see you so happy.
wow. good show, nice to have a crowd react to you. heehee.
glad you had a bad wine first. smile.
QOTD: biggest opportunity – hmm. It was Apple stock, MS Stock, Google stock, so maybe now it’s hmm. Don’t know. Guess that is why I’m not a millionaire.
I can see myself in the first 20 seconds of the show, peeking through the crowd!
It was a great party at Wine Library, I am so glad I got to make it. Can’t wait for next year’s party…there will be a next year won’t there??
Just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed this episode AGAIN. Having been there in person for the taping, the episode has already brought back fond memories!
Loved the show!! I had just uncorked a 2000 bordeaux and was drinking it while I watched. You are right about the palatte developing and I now find myself liking the more structured and balanced wines instead of the fruit bombs!!
So bummed to have missed your big party but I was in Spain….drinking wine of course! What a hotbed that country is! Just ordering the house wine gets you something really good….usually for under 10 Euro! Anyway, please consider having another WLTV party because I will make the trek to be there…would love to drink wine with you and the Wine Library crew!
Was fortunate enough to be at WL for the live taping of the show and got to taste along with Gary. Great party … thanks also to Alec, Ian D, Terence and Matt for all their help and advice. Had a fabulous time … Basilico after was great.
It looked like you guys had a lot of fun that day. I couldn’t make it, but will definitely make the trip to the Wine Lib one day soon.
I was lucky enough to find the 04 Leoville Barton for $45 at Costco(they still have it,people in Bakersfield would rather drink wine from Paso Robles)and it has just blown me away on two occasions with a couple hours of decanting. Not a real concentrated wine but so well balanced and well made. It’s not over-extracted like so many wines these days,it doesn’t use Vanilla as the main flavor and bouquet component, its just delicious and of a higher breeding. It even showed up my previous favorite, Pontac Lynch on NCAA finals night.
