QOTD- Last Chenin Blanc I had was probably about 30+ years ago and I am sure it was on ice, I obviously was not a wine geek at the time.

QOTD: The last one I had was from South Africa and it was blind so I can’t remember what it was. We tasted 3 other wines that were much better (on my pallet) so I really didn’t pay attention, but have had a few french that were great. I will have to give Africa a chance to redeem it’s self.

Good news for you, the M’s called up Morrow. Look out for R.A. Dickey as well. Because Bedard went down, Dickey’s getting the start on Friday (I think). His knuckler comes in at about 82 mph. That’s nasty.

My favorite white is Sauvignon B, don’t drink many other whites at all. Enjoyed a Lake County Contrada SB (by Michael Pozzan winery) yesterday.

Last Chenin Blanc I drank?….probably out of a jug I took from my mom when I was 16. Thanks for the review Gary, CB is definitely worth checking out as it begins to warm up here in Sunny CA.

How perfect that chose yesterday to talk about Chenin Blanc, not two days after my wife and I drank the best one we’ve had in a long time: Prince Poniatowski’s Clos Baudoin Vouvray 2001. Creamy lemon, smoke, and pineapple on the nose and palate. Wicked acidity (to use your phrasing, razor sharp) despite the aging, but what I loved most was that there was no trace of puckeriness on the finish. Amazing for $25!

Actually, the last Chenin Blanc I had was from Dry Creek. I like it when you evaluate a wine that I have had; it let’s me compare our palates. That doesn’t happen often as most of the wines you taste don’t seem to be available in Minnesota.

last chenin blanc is one I drink all the time – also from S.A – called MANN. Only about $6 or $7 and my wife & I love it as an every day white that’s a little different. Every time I serve it to guests I get great comments. WL carries it. I grab a bottle almost every time I’m in the store.

Really pumped you had CB on the thunder show. Over the weekend I had my first, a Monmousseau 2005 Vouvray, and really enjoyed it. Definitely a grape I would return to in the future.

The last CB I had was this awesome little dessert wine by Domaine Jo Pithon. It was the 2003 Coteaux du Layon Saint-Lambert Les Bonnes Blanches.

Will blow your mind.
