QOTD: Honestly, I have only had one Chenin Blanc and I can’t even remember the exact name. I remember it was from South Africa & I was pretty new to wine when I drank it. I actually liked it a lot, but didn’t even realize that Chenin Blanc was different from Sauvignon Blanc.

    Nice show.
Interesting you didn’t do any Chenin Blanc’s from the Loire Valley Southern France, maybe next time. I feel that the Liore Valley produces amazing Chenin Blanc’s that give so much more than the new world CB. How they get sweeter over time.

nice show, definitely would like to try some more chenin. i have only had a few. the last one i had was Pacific Rim Chenin Blanc, which was pretty enjoyable.

  • Glenn

First, Congrats on the book, can’t wait to order a few for gifts.
QOTD: I have had several Chenin Blanc about a year ago and remember they were from S. Africa but don’t recall the producer. I recall enjoying them but not having them bring the thunder. Speaking of thunder, I had my first Sancere (sp.) this week and now it brought the thunder. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

  • QOTD: I don’t think I’ve ever had a Chenin Blanc, but it’s on the list now.
And if your couning shameless book plugs by others, give the tally a +1 cause I just blogged it 😉 Good Luck with it!

  • QOTD: To be honest, I don’t remember ever having a Chenin Blanc, but I do look forward to trying to find that Touraine. Right now I’m sort of enjoying some Mad Housewife 2004 California Cabernet Sauvignon. I need to work on developing my nose, though. Thanks for the great show!

  • Do you really have the ability to actually block people if they didn’t comment? Impressive if thats the case. I don’t have anything to say. I just don’t want to potentially be blocked.

QOTD: Interesting you ask that because it was a Chenin Blanc from Anjou in the Loire. Don’t remember the producer but was very similar to a Sauvignon Blanc and a great buy! Looking to try one from S. Africa.

QOTD—don’t remember it wasn’t more than 3 months ago but it wasn’t very good.

  • QOTD: Looks like I have to comment again after completing the episode…the last place I tried one was in a Wine and Spirits. A lady had a little tasting table.

I don’t remember what it was.

good champagne tasting – however, champagne is generally better with sex and adding that component to the thunder show would likely energize and expand your viewing legions.

  • Back in 1995 and 1996, Chateau Ste Michelle (Washington) made a great Chenin Blanc. It was my favorite white at the time but they stopped making it. 🙁 I can’t remember the last Chenin Blanc I had. But I love NZ Sauvignon Blanc so I can’t wait to try the Cederberg.

Gary! C’mon! What is this? You’ve gotten soooooo many comments in the last couple of days. Wheres the love!?
Can’t say i recall my last chenin blanc, it’s been a while. Though for ten bucks… my ckc ass is intrigued…
