QOTD: depending on what I can get my hands on … but a Corton-Charlemagne would be nice. But it will probably be the newly released 2005 Joseph Roty Bougogne Blanc, since it has almost 90% pinot blanc in it this year…WHAT NOT CHARD? I know, he’s kind of a rebel that way. I’m super curious.

Great show GV. I have to say that I am not a bif fan of Chards, as the affordable ones always tend to be disappointing!! I’ll give a try the Chablis Domaine Millet 2005 (available in Quebec’s SAQ at 22$)!

QOTD – in Hawaii finding white burgandy is like finding diamonds on diamond head. very rare but I will look around.

QOTD: I don’t drink burgundy, burgundy sucks……Oh, wait, I’ve been screaming for more burgundy shows :). My next white burg will probably be the Amiot St Aubin I have, or could be any of a number of white burgs, as I loves me white and red burgs

QOTD – Denis Dutron Macon 2004 will be the very next white burgundy for me and only 13 US dollars.

QOTD: Have at least 6 in the cellar, not certain of any of the producers.

QOTD (after watching again): I haven’t had a white burg, not rolling deep enough but I am looking for the right “play” in that market.

So how many people didn’t get to see todays episode due to the new technology that blocks peeps that didn’t leave comments yesterday?

Just had a few white burgundis…it’s not killing me. At least, you get a lot of oak for the money 😉

good golly I wish I had enough dough to buy those last two wines. I’m sitting here drinking a Rosso Pinot Grigio (? Coppola stuff), which is palatable for $8/bottle, but… C’mon! I want the good shit!

QOTD: I have to admit I have not had a white burgundy. Years of drinking mostly reds is making me feel like I have been missing out, especially after these last 2 episodes. Although I did pick up a South African Chenin Blanc today.

I really like it when you let Mott taste, give us viewers a little extra opinion. Love the white Burgundy.

QOTD: gotta go with a different vintage of a producer I love, Domaine Veronique De Macmahon. Bio-wine, great wine, will be interesting to see if an older vintage has the same peanuttiness that the 04 and 05 had.

Next white bourgogne? Not sure. I recently got a bottle of the ’05 Louis Jadot Domaine du Duc de Magenta (the Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle vineyard) Chassagne-Montrachet, but I think I won’t open that one for a few years… So the next one will probably be some nice chablis on the patio outside with some food. Or a bourgogne aligoté – I got a 2000 bottle that’s way overdue.

Anyway, as I was saying, I’ve had excellent luck with under $20 bottles.
A favorite is the Saint Bris from Domaine Goisot. Refreshing minerality with luscious pear top notes in a medium bodied wine. Check it out. It’s about $15 at pJs.
