You had a Passover show. You didn’t have an Easter show. What do you have against Jesus Christ?

    BTW: Yesterday’s show was UNWATCHABLE!

    QOTD:::
—2005 Joseph Roty Marsannay Rose – beautiful, and more refined than the 2004.
—2002 Stanko Radikon Ribolla Gialla – white with structure, strength, and complexity
—2005 Domaine du Cros (Philippe Teulier) Marcillac ‘Lo Sang del Païs’ – 100% Fer Servadou – beautiful minerality, and acidity – if you like Morgon, and if you like Saumur, you’ll love this stuff
—and just because: FX Pichler Riesling Smaragd, Dürnsteiner Kellerberg.

  • Thank you for the show Gary, makes me look forward to our Washington trip even more this October.

QOTD: I recommend that you grab a couple bottles of the Pomum, pack a fantastic picnic basket, put some flowers and in two books for you and your wife to read and find a stunning spot to suprise her with a picnic (mid week) this spring. Pull her out of work and dedicate a day to showing her how much she means to you.

  • Leif Erik Sundstrom

    OH

    Gary,

I recommend a wonderful Italian wine from the Calabrian region of Italy called, Odoardi Savuto – 2003: 45% Gaglioppo, 15% Greco Nero, 15% Nerello Cappuccio, 15% Magliocco Canino and a touch (10%) Sangiovese. You can find it in NYC.

I recommend you sell enough wine to buy the Jets because it is going to take an owner with your kind of passion to ever turn that club around. Just saying…

My first comment here! Straight to the point: QOTD recommendation is definitely a nice Chassela from Lutry, Canton de Vaud, Switzerland. Preferably 2005, if you can find any after the hale storms desroyed most of the vintage. Expect nice honey flavors and real crispiness!

Hey – there’s another poster with my name!

QOTD: I would recommend Littorai Pinot Noir.

BTW – you didn’t say how well the matzah paired with the red wine.

It wasnâ??t completely â??Laid Back Fridayâ? today, but there was a little crackle of thunder with that Pomom wine. 🙂

Dude, I just subscribed to the WLTV RSS feed as soon as the thing was mentioned on the show. Iâ??m surprised I never had the instinct to ask about adding this feature, although I always like these things in my Internets and the podcasts located therein.

QotD: Aside from my earlier recommendation about brain associations in Episode #449, Iâ??m gonna chime in with something else here — brace yourself. Since youâ??ve just WRITTEN a book about something that youâ??re into (BIG congrats on that, btw), I will recommend that you READ a book about something Iâ??M into: SUPERHEROES!

    â??Invincible: The Ultimate Collection, Volume 1 (hardcover)â?

Take all the lame clichés about your typical superhero story, and make them all way more clever and funnier than that stupid â??Superhero Movie.â? Then, slowly build up the story to a very important and meaningful battle with a surprise opponent, and finally watch this book change the superhero world â?? whether they like it, or not!

I hope you enjoy my recommendation. You can look it up at Amazon.com somewhere. Just copy and paste that title in the search bar.

Way to kill it yet again.
Plus big ups on the secret duo packs, hopefully there will be something special in these two.

QOTD: I recommend doing the secret packs every month, it would give us vayniacs something to look forward to. Also I recommend trying any of the Sineann wines, especially the 2006 Schindler Pinot Noir. They might be a little too new world for you, but I love them.

    Great episode,
QOTD: Henry of Pelham 2006 Gamay from Ontario. I loved it, partly because it was the first wine that I found that had some of the flavours that you were talking about on the show. It helped em expand my palate and also tasted great, flinty and earthy. Enjoy.

    Good one Gary.

QOTD: You MUST try Surly “Furious” beer. Made right here in the great state of Minnesota. Un-freaking-believably good. Cool packaging too. Give a shout if you can’t get it, I’ll figure a way to make that happen.

Loved the show today…thanks for the shout out! I completely agree on this region. This area so often gets passed over by Walla Walla…my recommendation, try some of the smaller winery’s in the Yakima/Columbia Valley.

*ATTENTION* QOTD: I do not have any good recommendations for a wine at this moment, however, I do have a recommendation for something else… I think we would all love to see a Gary Vayernerchuck/Wine Library documentary. I am a film-school graduate living in New York, and would love to lend a hand if you ever chose to do so. Cannot wait for your book. Have a great weekend!
