  • Gary, you should review wine from Zin Alley very small vineyard the owner gives the tastings. I was impressed that he uses dry farm and sprawl farming methods.

First, congrats on the book (1st of many?). Hopefully I won’t have to go buy one, but if I do (boo hoo) I’ll gladly do so! My hope is that the book tells your story (Russian immigrant family without two nickels to grow into a major player in the wine world, etc, etc) as well as the 101 wines that bring the thunder because YOU brought the thunder to the wine world! We, the Vayniacs, only reflect the thunder deep into the hearts and minds of friends, family and the poor cashier at my local shop who’d never heard of you!

QOTD- Recent recommendation… 2005 Water Wheel Memsie, got it cheap (under $12!), felt like I had spent the rent money when I drank this baby!

  • I recommend Rosato from Italy made of Nebbiolo grape. Cantalupo is my favorite one and always looking for new ones. Thanks for the heads up on the Shaya red. That is my last living uncle’s name.

  • QOTD: Since you didn’t specify that it had to be a wine, I recommend a Rocky Patel Old World Reserve Toro Maduro cigar.

bonvec’s comment happened to be on the main page when I started watching the show, so let me put in another shoutout for Zin Alley. Was very impressed with their stuff when I went tasting through CA last year. 42 bones for a Zin really ain’t cheap, but it was seriously good, well-made wine.

Gary I just watched episode 148 and I have to say that it was absolutely crazy. I am definitely going to taste some of those things each week. I am going to try to focus on 2-3 items a week and even pair it up with a wine that you mention them in.

Thanks for the great tips and laughs.

Gary V, my recommendation to you is to bring WLTV on the road for more tours. I would love to see WLTV all over the USA and even the world. Just think….. The world being engulfed by GV and WLTV.
