  • Fun show. Many different angles.
QOTD: I recommend any Montepulciano di Abbruzzi, particular from the Bucaro vinard.

  • QOTD: I recommend you do a blind taste comparison among different Riedel glasses or do a blind taste comparison of using a Vinturi versus not using one and see if you sense any difference.

  • QOTD: I recommend that you do more shows with small producers that you don’t carry at WL. We’ll still continue to buy wine from WL and you’ll fill up some nice producers mailing lists and make the “little guy” happy.

So I definately signed up for the Pomum mailing list and hope good things will come of that.

Also I won’t be getting enough moneys to buy the mystery packs until Wednsday next week so please don’t let them sell out by then.

You mentioned getting into the beers and doing maybe a special or something on that and I want to recommend Left Hand Brewery’s Milk Stout. Sounds weird definately but give it a try and I’m sure you’ll love it. Not so sure how the sniffy sniff is gonna go though.

First, EXCELLENT show… loved the change of pace, the energy, and it always helps to have a 95 point wine.

Second, QOTD: more guests. I loved the show yesterday, I think you should make this at least a monthly event, if not weekly.

great show. can’t wait for the next tasting…
in chi-town, the weather is hot one day, cold the next.
in other words, can’t quite bust out the rose yet.
but, since it’s ALMOST rose season, i have a recommendation for you.
and it’s ALMOST a rose. maybe it technically is. i don’t know.
    it’s called Reuilly Pinot Gris.
almost a rust colored thing going on. like the edges of a really old wine, but all the way through.
    i think it’s loire valley.
never had anything like it. i suggest you put it on the show.
    really pure fruit. very interesting.
ps- i sent in my receipt on the book, and it bounced back. i’ll try again i guess.
    thanks

I went to CSU Fresno’s Farm Market for a tasting yesterday and talked up WLTV to the person pouring for us. She was really interested and promised to check out the show. I can’t wait to go back and see what she thinks. I nailed the bouquet and flavor profiles by the way.
So, QOTD: On your next trip to Cali, visit the enology department at Fresno State and meet the future winemakers. Or just have them ship you a case for an episode. Come on,it’ll be fun!

QOTD: 2005 Contraste from Wente Vineyards / Casa de Piedra

This wine IS THE THUNDER. Tasted while at The Restaurant at Wente, and it blew me away. One of the best wines I’ve ever experienced… combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Temrpanillo from the Guadalupe Valley (Baja) and Livermore. Only available at the winery, but well worth the $49 and drive (for those nearby or on business).

My recommendation- book Lassie now! Have her try out all the dog wines:
Dog Point SB, Dog House Maxies Merlot, Three Legged Red from Wash. Zoot Allures from Oregon (dogs on the label). I am sure there are thousands more!

Your recommendations – Had the ’05 Bourgueil from Dom. De La Chanteleuserie. Very original. Thanks for encouraging us to try CF! Also had the ’02 Tempier Bandol. Loved it. Also original and interesting.

Let me know if you need any more ideas! Please give me the book and I will recommend it to all my peeps.

Love the Vayniac comments! You peopel who comment are all awesome!
