I just got a 100% tempranillo wine that was low in price and rated high so I am curious how it will taste.
QOTD: My go to cereals are cinnamon toast crunch and peanut butter crunch, keeping it healthy of course.

GV, your intensity was “on-point” for this epsd.
sqotd: lemon water for days… lemon & lime and club soda. Try Bitters & club soda. Try the bitters and club soda.

    qotd: Wheaties with added raisins.

QTD: hi Gary, just got home from working late, tuned into wine library and enjoyed –Yes, you guessed it! A bowl of cereal (Kashi, Go Lean Crunch!). I rarely have cereal, so what a coincidence.

Nice show and thanks for the info re: Tempranillo’s pseudonyms! I had a Termes 2005 Tinto de Toro a last weekend and thought it quite excellent, though more fruity than I prefer.

    Ciao…

While I was watching I was nibbling organic honey toasted cereal with maca root! When you asked the question I almost felt you were watching. Spooky indeed. A nice water is one laced with lemon balm(aka melissa). Hot or cold. Fresh sliced ginger root also great, more stimulating. Nice show. Congrats on the book.

Um, I don’t eat cereal. Maybe Fruit Loops if I had to. Would rather whip up some eggs and bacon if I have to get out of bed.

Loving the Tempranillo show, and great find at $8. How about more Spanish Tinta? A whole show on different Spanish Tempranillo would be way cool, or maybe a show with 4-5 up-and-coming Priorats? Would be really helpful.

Great episodes this week, man. Loving the variety.

QOTD: Frosted Shredded Wheat! And NOT the Kellogg’s brand with ‘high fructose corn syrup,’ but the supermarket knock-off brand with all-natural ingredients for half the price.

  • QOTD: I’m not eating any cereal right now, or lately, but your question has me craving a bowl of Honey-Nut Cheerios.

So many references in this episode that were just awesome. Pixi-Stix, Piper’s Pit, and many more I’ve now forgotten.

QotD: I’m eating Special K and Cheerios, with a dash of Kix for kicks and giggles. I used to be really into Rice Krispies, but Special K is made from the same stuff and is actually more loaded with vitamins and goodness. Basically, I’m staying away from having sugar in my cereal. Big ups to sliced bananas!

  • QOTD: Didn’t we do this one before? I’ve been working on a box of Raisin Bran-like stuff, but I’m mostly a homemade granola kind of person.

Man I wish these wines would not sell out so quickly when you pimp the hell out of them!

  • Sorry Gary, got to your episode a little late. I seriously dislike cereal. I think it stems from eating way too many honey smacks as a kid. Never-the-less, not eating a cereal.

QOTD: I don’t eat cereal these days. Too much on the sugar and carbs. But when I get the desire every blue moon or so, it’s either Raisin Bran or Frosted Flakes.

Wow! I’ve been wanting to know what the most over-oaked wine is that you’ve ever tasted and this show answered my question. I HATE over-oaked wine! You can literally picture the inside of a wine barrel and how it would smell and taste when you experience these kinds of wines.

As for always trying new things, I tried a wonderful Greco di Tufo this week which is a great alternative to Chardonnay. It only had the faintest hint of rubber on the nose but I didn’t mind it. Such a nice wine!

Also, I tried a tasty Macedonian wine made of a grape called vranec. The Macedonian wine had a very spicy nose with some nice ripe red and dark fruit scents with an underlying farmesque earthiness to it. On the palate, the vranec was nice and tart and sort of tickled the tip of the tongue with a faint fizz and it finished with firm tannins and sour cherry. Wow!

Thanks for always stressing that we should try new things! You are the best! Keep it up!
