I just got a 100% tempranillo wine that was low in price and rated high so I am curious how it will taste.
QOTD: My go to cereals are cinnamon toast crunch and peanut butter crunch, keeping it healthy of course.

Just watched the ep while eating a bowl of Cheerios at 8pm. I was meant to stop lurking today.

  • Ah, I also tried a Luigi Bosco La Linda wine this past weekend @ tasting – was the Reserva Malbec, yeah, was a bit more $ but good also.
The Oak Monster t-shirt was awesome – great design.
Barbara’s Shredded Spoonfuls and 5 others, rotating.

I haven’t tried La Linda Tempranillo yet, but frankly I am NOT surprised at all. Over the past year, I have become a hu-you-you-YOUge fan of Argentina. I’m telling ya, these days, for the CKCers, or for the PAPKICCers like me (Paying Alimony Plus Two Kids In College Crowd), Argentina is WHERE IT’S AT. How many times do I have to mention Vina Antigua’s red (50% Bonarda, 50% Sangiovese), the BEST $5 wine you will ever find. I have 6 different friends who after trying it, asked me for a case of it – you should test it yourself.

QOTD: I always mix 2-4 different cereals together in a big Rubbermaid bulk container. Right now, I think my mix is a blend of Kellogg’s Smart Start, Post’s multigrain BlueBerry Morning, Post’s Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, and Giant Store’s house (generic) brand of Granola. Cuz when it comes to cereal, I’m like a Bordeaux wine blender, trying to achieve the ultimate balance of all the different cereal varietals.

  • QOTD: Eating Post Selects. I really like the one with the cranberries in it. All about trying new things though. I can’t stick with the same cereal for very long. I wish there were as many cereals as there are wines.

  • QOTD – I’m a steel cut oats kind of guy, but when I eat cold cereal it’s usually Post Selects with bananas. The pecan one is pretty good too.

  • I’m very happy you came upon the La Linda–this is a wine my wife and I fell in love with in Argentina, where it was featured in one of the high end restaurants in the Palermo Chico section of Buenos Aires, Social Paraiso. While it’s not a ‘showy’ wine, I feel it drinks like many solid Argentine reds and it seduces you in a quiet way. Since Luigi Bosca’s La Linda line has other kinds of reds-malbec, pinot noir, cabernet, I’d really be curious what you thought those were like and if you could review them as well.

FWI-if you want to sound like a true ‘porteno(Buenos Aires city dude), the double L in Argentina is pronounced like a soft g, “eegh”, as in Tempran–ee–sho.

    Fun show….

  • Hey Gary! I’m thrilled to see such good marks for the Tempranillo! It gives me validation for the handful of California Reds I’ve picked up in recent years, which I’ve just started trying out (they’ve each had VERY similar characteristics to what you found in this one).

P.S. I was at the Meadowlands Arena for that taping when Andre challenged Hulk for the title on that Piper’s Pit you referenced! What a bombshell!
