EP 457 Vernaccia Wines From Italy, Another White Wine To Pay Attention To.

Vernaccia is another classic white wine that is overlooked by so many as they focus on the 1 or 2 white wines they drink from Italy. I hate to pick on Pinot Grigio but I want people to expand their palates.

Wines tasted in this episode:

Fontaleoni Vernaccia Di San GimignanoVernaccia di San Gimignano
2006 Sovestro Vernaccia Di San GimignanoVernaccia di San Gimignano

    Hey Gary,

You should *SERIOUSLY* consider hitting up VANCOUVER, BC for the book tour sometime around the Seattle and Portland dates. It works well geographically, doesn’t it? Just hit up (any) Chapters Bookstore and you’re gold.

QOTD: I’d probably ask you why you didn’t come to Vancouver on the book tour 😉

If you’re able to make it over to Davis, CA or Sacramento, CA before heading to Chicago after SF, I will TOTALLY, WITHOUT HESITATION come to the book tour. I don’t know if I can make it the 2-hours out to San Francisco, but I sure plan on trying.

QOTD: Either “What’s next?” or “Do you think the wine industry has a noticeable dislike for those within their ranks who become intoxicated (wine drinking instead of wine tasting) ?”

    Have a good weekend!

Bring the book tour to Ann Arbor, MI! Awesome city, U of M campus, world HQ for Borders Book Store – popular stop, great space. Or check out Shaman Drum – http://www.shamandrum.com/ – and support indie business!

QOTD: Can Michigan produce drinkable wine?

I’m only 17, Gary, you know how hard it is to persue an interest in wine when you’re not legally allowed to drink it! It’s so hard to get into wine tasting!

I’d have to ask you… where does one start???

At least the legal age in Ireland is only 18, I think if I had to wait till 21 I’d go crazy!
Not that anyone really cares anyway, everyone here just gets locked every weekend from 14!
    haha
I’m not into that, though. I just love wine for what it is. Such a beautiful, complex drink!
Thanks for another great show, anyway.
    Happy birthday to your mom!

    GV!!

You have to come to Houston on the tour!!

I think if you and I were drinking wine @ 12:30am, then I would know that we just broke the #1 rule with man-dates. 1- Never have wine on a man-date. I think I would have to ask you to stop drinking wine and lets get some beer.

QOTD to you: Is it necessary to lay bottles with screw caps on their side in the cellar?
