qotd: a micro brewThe wino in me has to point out that Condrieu isn’t ever a blend, it’s 100% viognier, no marsanne is allowed. (ditto for Chateau-Grillet)

QOTD: Since it’s the Summer (almost), I’m once again hooked on Bell’s Brewery ‘Oberon’ summer ale. Outside of that, if it’s an occasion where I’m out, I’ll go Belgian almost every time; St. Bernardus ‘Prior 8’, Gulden Draak, Maredsous 8, et al. Used to love the Triples, but alcohol content is too high for the Summer. If we’re talking an everyday selection; Guinness, the greatest beer ever invented, and the only beer in the world specifically designed to be shot out it’s container using a CO/2 system, hence the unique “settling” it does in the pint glass.

Great show, once again. I always check back to see if you’ve covered one of my favorites here in DC; Pure Love’s ‘Desert Eagle’ Shiraz, from Barossa.

QOTD: If I had to drink a beer instead of a wine: It would be either Chimay or Duvel.

?OD: Depends on the attitude, the food and the location. Guiness, Negro Modelo, Turbo Dog, Specked Hen and so many more all have their time and place. I always go for the local brews when I travel.

Good show! Very passionate and informative.
QOTD: Bud… Just kidding. Guinness is hard to surprise, in Ireland where the kegs are tapped with better carbonation!

QOTD: Has to be either a brew from North Coast, such as Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout or the MacPelican’s Wee Heavy Strong Scottish Ale from my favorite Oregon brew pub, Pelican Brewery.

QOTD: So hard since I love beer so much, I’d have to go with Guinness though. Possibly a nice Leffe Brown could upset it though.

Enjoyed the show on Shiraz…been looking to try some more since we haven’t had many shiraz/sirah varietals.

QOTD: Carl likes Hefeweizen. I have never learned to enjoy beer.

Shiner Bock for sure, and GV this was a great show. Enjoyed your guest and the interaction between you guys. Good comments and nice to have a regular fan in front of the camera. Shiraz rocks and is our current favorite after working all day.

I grew up in Wisconsin. Ever since I was old enough to drink, I have always enjoyed Leinenkugels brewed in Chippewa Falls, WI. Some of their brews are bad, some of them are really good (octoberfest, original, and their honey weiss to name a few). You should check them out!
