Gary- Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris!!!~~~~ Great stuff for the hot weather we are having!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

  • QOTD: Chalk up another for Zind-Humbrecht Herrenweg de Turckheim.

  • Pete G

Awesome battle. Love the head to head competition especially with 2 kick ass vinos.

QOTD: I’d have to say Trimbach – high end or low they are always cosistently good (Kris is prob my favorite value pinot grigio – it has it all over santa margherita at halsf the price)

QOTD: I’ve had Pinot Gris before, but none that stand out in my memory, though.

On a different note, had some very spicy Indian curry the other night with a Gewurtztraminer on your recommendation–it was awesome! I’ll have to try the Pinot Gris again with spicy food to see if it works out, too.

  • QOTD: 2006 Handley Pinot Gris, but I have not yet had many of those high end Alsatian Pinot Gris that roll into the $ hundreds.

Hope you are enjoying your vacay, GV!

QOTD: MMM, not much of a pinot gris fan. Only tried a few though, but those did not really seem to offer anything.

I remember a Pinot Gris from a small Alsatian winery caled Ziegler…

  • QOTD – Never had a pinot gris, but I don’t think I’ve seen them at the liquor stores here…they probably do have them, but they’ve never stuck out.

QOTD: Never had one! Thanks for another great show!

  • Lindsey

The best Pinot Gris I have ever tasted is the 2006 Del Rio Vineyard’s Pinot Gris. It emphasizes ripe tropical and citrus fruit qualities and juicy, mouthwatering freshness.

By the way you keep mispronouncing Oregon. Say it like this: ORYGUN

  • New to this wine thing but have been lurking for a week and feeling guilty. Last time I had wine was on a cruise 6 weeks ago but would like to try some more, enjoyed a fume blanc then and also a sangiovese wine, first two bottles of wine consumed ever. I need to find some wines my wife would enjoy as she has had no experience with wine or other drinks. Again, I enjoy your show, wish you could ship to Minnesota.
