QOTD: I believe I had a sauterne at a wine tasting class in 1994.

I couldn’t watch the bouncy video. I scrolled down and listened to the audio. I didn’t want to miss a show.

Hrmmm, I *know* I’ve had a sauternes, but I can’t say I’ve even the slightest recollection what I’ve thought of them, which means I wasn’t super-impressed — certainly, at least, not nearly so much so as you are with the Doisy! I’ll give it another go, though, so next time I’m downtown (tomorrow, probably) it’s Israel and sauternes!

Nice, on-site tastings from the book are fantastic. The passion really came through today… and I really like the quick explanation on why we should trust our own palates’, even on a clearly fantastic desert wine.

Favorite Sauternes is 2001 Château de Fargues. Great episode Gary, but go to some QPRs from Rousillon or Saumur. I am more convinced than ever that there is great wine from other regions that gives just as much pleasure.

Gary, I really like the idea of you tasting the wines in your book live. Great experience for those of us who have the book.

Qotd: haven’t had one yet, I have one ready for one a buddy of mine visits with his fiance in a few weeks, she really kies the sweet dessert wines.

QOTD: I don’t know which brands, but every Sauternes I’ve tried (and there have been at least 5), I’ve loved, which is very different for me, since I don’t usually like the taste of wine. I wish I could be specific, but I guess I’m working in vaugeries today.

Well, I can say I knew you when… You are getting out of touch with the daily wine drinkers. Still entertaining, but like a window at the mall – no one actually buys or dresses that way. I guess that is normal, the goal is to become a super star and not stay between “internet wonder” and “over the top has been”. Both wines unavailable?? How am I relating to this?

I have watched 400 or more shows, so don’t think me a snob, newbie, or red neck. smile.
No one has done what you have – you should be proud. What is next?

I will continue to watch and post. Love the Cabs under $20 type shows. Love the French wines to reach to occasionally. You are reaching star-dom and your peebs can’t buy most of your wines tasted. Well, some. I could, but won’t.

QOTD:I’ve had a few, but don’t recall the names. I purchased the Vedrines from this year’s CAS and one or two from previous sales, but gave them as gifts. Not a big fan of dessert wines. Have an Austrian Kracher in the cellar and do enjoy an occasional Port.

p.s. I visited the bordeaux region last year and had a Tasting (primeurs) of Cos at 9h30 am….Guiraud also at the same time the next day was a lot easier…

QOTD: Iâ??ve never has a Sauteres. but concidering ive only been getting into wine hard core since i started watching the show ill will be tring to find this at some point. The closest thing ive had to something like this would be an ice wine and i love the cab franc ice wine its soooo good i must say

Haven’t had enough Suternes to make a decision. Good Episode, good to be able to watch for a change. 11 Month Old + Pregnant wife = NO free time!!

I sprung for 2 bottles of the 05 Cos. I’ve been good at not getting 1 or 2 more and have instead been seeking out the 04s. You’re not helping matters Gary. 🙂
