    Whoo! Early today.

Actually, right now i’m drinking the Unibroue 17th Anniversary beer-which is really quite good.

Last night I did the always wonderful Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva: and I wondered why I don’t drink Riojas more often.

Thanks for the shout-out GV! First anniversary was awesome, can’t wait to see what the following years have to bring.

QOTD: Today I had some nice South Australian wines. The St. Hallett Shiraz took the cake though!

Oh yeah…..I have the first and second generation wristbands. The first one really is a piece of $#@&, but it has nostalgic value.

Petit Sirah is almost a no miss proposition for me.

QOTD – Last weekend had a Kilikanoon Tempest 2005. Sort of thinking about a Turley for tomorrow or Friday.

  • Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc with dinner. I have 1st and second generation armbands but not 3rd or 4th. You should bring them on the cruise. I’m with Mott on the leaf raking. Hate that job except that I get to crank up the blower and blow them into the neighbors yard.

One of your recommendations from Washington the Ponum (Great)

I do have the original wrist band, I do need the new one to complete my collection…Damm you Gary!!!!

QOTD: Drinking Bare Foot Cab as we speak, really great wine for the $$$ and the nose is just GREAT!!

  • Eric Minick

QOTD: What am I drinking? I’ve been on an Italian and Spanish kick of late. The rest of the time, I’m working through a case of Colorado wines. Canyon Wind 2005 cab franc was really surprisingly good.

  • most rblum reminds me of cough syrup, but i’ll try this one –
QOTD – been into funky french wines, i.e. breton’s le dilletante cab franc, and a vacqueras from charbonaire.
trying lots of white bordeaux for the summer, haven’t settled on a fave yet –

A few friends are having a blind under $20 wine tasting party this weekend, where everyone brings two bottles of the same wine and whomever brings a wine that people like the best gets to take all the second bottles home. I’m bringing 2005 Pasodoble. Other than that… ordered a cava when we were out for dinner this past weekend, and my friend (champagne drinker) was very impressed with her first experience. Craving rhone wines since they’re a rarity around here and I don’t really want to ship anything in this weather. I found Domaine Paul Autard Châteauneuf du Pape â??La Côte Rondeâ?? (which I had especially loved in the past, although I cannot remember a chateauneuf du pape that I did not enjoy) at a local bar and got excited but it was way too over-priced so I didn’t end up ordering it. 🙁

2006 Hexamer Eisendell Riesling Spatlese was the best of the recent bottles I’ve had.

Qotd: actually I just had a Sarnac Pomegranate Wheat Ale the other night that was really good.

QOTD: I’ve been drinking more Riesling recently. I really enjoy the ones with strong passion fruit flavors.

  • Should check out P.S. I Love You
