Loved the show and love Petite Sirah, especially Girard! QOTD, a few bottles of the 2005 Bearboat Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, and some value White Burgundy.

    Enjoyed the show as usual!

Didn’t care about the wristband then don’t care about them now! Just wine!;)

Like the “Baseball Glove” reference. Don’t remember the wine but about two months ago caught some baseball glove(chewed string) leather in a wine. Thought it was pretty interesting.

Will be looking for the Rosenblum PS!

    Drinking: Anything red!

By the way, disappointed the Fopianno did stand up too well. Enjoyed their wines in the past, especially, their cabs.

Also, enjoyed Concannon’s PS in the past.

QOTD: Right now I’m drinking a very good German Riesling and it has managed to at least provide me with a good birthday night from an otherwise blah birthday day.

We drink something new pretty much every time we drink. Whites have been dominating, with Gewürztraminer, Viognier (and other Cotes du Rhone whites), Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc from all over, and Chenin Blanc making up the majority, but also digging the Portuguese, Greek, and Chilean reds. Really looking for cool new stuff to try…it’s harder to get rarities like Hungarian reds and whites, other South Americans, Balkan, Canadian non-ice wines. Really like the “thank you” intros; it’s nice to see people appreciating what they have and realizing how great they have it!

QOTD: I just came back from a summer holiday in England. Surprisingly, Australian wines are cheap there compared to Germany, where I live. So I splurged and brought home 20 bottles of various price ranges and varietals. One of the best so far was a Cabernet Merlot blend from Willow Bridge, a 2006 “Dragonfly” for around 10-11 bones. Really well balanced and full of character for a wine in this price range.

Drinking new world rhone style white blends. Working back through some wines that I used to drink before even stuff like chilean merlot to see how my palate has changed.

Loads of Western Australian Shiraz – trying to find the best available WA Shiraz on the irish market.

Whites from Rueda as well – but then isnt everyone ?

QOTD: I just had a 2005 Frick Carignane . It was Frickin’ good. I couldn’t believe the Frickin’ strawberries, the Frickin’ raspberries, and the Frickin’ cherries on the initial attack. It was hollow on the mid palate and kicked back in with some Frickin’ pepper. I have also been drinking alot of anything from the Languedoc.

Gary!! LOVE YOUR SHOW, LOVE YOUR ENERGY, LOVE THE “SNIFFY SNIFF”!!!

Lot 205 Petite Sirah ROCKS! You didn’t mention this, but after it is open about 30 minutes is opens up tremendously and is BLUEBERRY PIE. AWESOME. Acutally, I think the wine is pretty sophisticated, especially for the price…just the kind of QPR I look for!!

As far as Rosenblum–WATCH OUT! Constellation wines just bought them and everything Constelation touches turns to absolute CRAP. Sad but true (in my opinion).

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR AWESOME SHOW AND GREAT ATTITUDE TOWARDS WINE! SPREAD THE LOVE!

QOTD : Aussie Shiraz. Had the 2005 Turkey Flat yesterday. RP gave it a 95; I would go more like 92+. A very solid effort, but not a mind blowing 95. Going to have the 2005 Massena Epsilon Shiraz tonite. RP 94 pts. Will be interesting to see how they compare.

Love the petite syrah ! Have had the 2003 Foppiano & it was great (would go 91 +) Have not had the most recent version. Stags Leap is my favorite PS though.
