I have the original wrist band and the original t-shirt.

QOTD: Drinking Layer Cake Zinfandel lately, and trying some white wines, which I usually do not enjoy as much.

  • Rick Johnson

Gary, I’m drinking my Reisling, home wintner. I can’t watch your show without wine. This wine is in secondary fermentation and still has some fizz when drawn out of the car boy, but I like it and my friends like it. I do a lot of sniffy-sniff, I get the fruit, but it’s not done yet. I’m out of finished wine so I imagine that you would recomend I go and buy some wine rather than interupt my wine before it’s done.

Great show, I like the Thank You at the beginning.

    QOTD:

Mostly root beers and cream sodas (I’m only 19). Trying to train my palate to discern flavors, and there’s a fairly large variety of root beers and other “classic” drinks.

    P.S. I don’t have any wristbands…..yet

Excellent show, but never seen any petite syrah in the stores around here. 🙁

QotD: As a member of the CKC, only drinking what my wallet will allow. Vino del box. And Oak Leaf from walmart. And my homebrew.

I’ve been trying Cabs from Chile. So far my favorite is Marques de Casa Concha 2006. I’m no expert, but for the price I find it hard to beat!

  • Herm

I have one of the original wrist bands…..I have been drinking and enjoying Nero D’Avola as well as Merlot, and Malbec

My first and only petite sirah is Crane Lake. I believe they are part of the monster that puts out two-buck chuck. It’s less than $4 a bottle and have found it consistent and very enjoyable.

QOTD: I just picked up some Russian Ochakovo Premium Lager. This brand’s popular in Russia and they run a lot of commercials domestically. The taste is somewhere around MGD and Corona Extra. Smooth and easy to drinking. Wine wise I’m not in the mood lately, I had a good Mosel Riesling last Saturday but I suspect it was only good because of the low 8% alcohol content. It might be the style for the region? It’s good stuff for the girls I guess.

Hmm…. let’s see. The best of late was a split of Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top but that was rare and wonderful. Other bottles include some Thorne-Clark shiraz and Arbor Crest Cab. FWIW.

QOTD: Well, wine wise, prosecco. Nice and refreshing in the summer time and goes well with food. But, right now, I’m drinking a nice tall glass of iced tea with the right amount of lemon. mmmmmm.

QOTD: Mostly local wines (I’m right in the middle of the Sierra Foothills AVA). Lots of different varietals. Right now, just finishing off an interesting Boeger Tempranillo.

Only have the Gen 2 wristband 🙁

QOTD: With my limited budget, I have been scouring my local stores for some different value driven wines. Had an ’05 Trapiche Malbec…fantastic.

Just got a 2005 Avalon Cab. Sauv…. I like it quite a bit. Though I’m still a bit of a newbie I remember having cabs in the past that were pucker city due to the tannins. Not a big fan of that. This Avalon ’05, I liked a lot. Nice chocolate, cherry, boysenberry aroma. Not a super long finish, but still at under 8 bones, a great tasting wine my budget can handle.
