The “cinnamon” you’re referring to, I think, is cassia. However, most of what is produced in America as “cinnamon” is actually cassia because spices when stored on the shelf tend to lose their edge, therefore spice companies ground cassia and label it cinnamon.

Real cinnamon bark is very expensive and most likely not what you’re going to get when you buy…cinnamon.
Are we clear? I hope not. 🙂

Oh, Leif is awesome. I don’t know what job recommendation you gave him, but I hope he gets it. And if it’s for a sommelier position, I would love to know what restaurant so I may go and check him out in NYC.

You should have a Sommelier with you on EVERY episode. its so nice to have 2 people who can describe wine on the show. This episode gives much better tasting notes than historically what you can and usually do on your own. (Not that you’re bad or anything, but 2 knowledgeable palates are better than 1)

QOTD: Living back in Las Vegas with Gary being able to ship wine there. NJ weather sucks as it is like always dark and rainy. Probably more like Oregon than Leif is bargaining for.

QOTD: I would have Tom Brady’s knee magically heal itself for Week 2 so he could STOMP the J-E-T-S…but that won’t happen. I’m thinking maybe get Bledsoe out of retirement, that might be better than Cassel…WHO KNOWS.

Awesome show. I ran into Leif on seesmic.com and enjoy watching his wine stuff. I’ve followed Gary V for a year or so now, and enjoy trying to find the wines he reviews locally and doing my own reviews.

I need to see if Gary ever did Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz/Cab blend. I did a video review of it on http://agoodtimewithwine.com .. love to see his thoughts on the wine compared to mine.
