  • That’s funny bro…!!!!

It’s DiGirolamo….as in Dee-Jer-Rahl-La-Mo. If you were Italian you wouldn’t have butchered it up but I still love ya.

We’ll have to keep it on a first name basis.. Glen will have to do…lol

    Thanks Gary…. 🙂

Good show. Love “good” chardonnay. QOTD: A friend recently opened a magnum of a 1992 Montelena Chardonnay. It was gold in color and delicious. I would have thought it was way past drinking but it was the best chard I’ve had in a while. Makes me wonder if I’m drinking these wines to young.

  • Been a while since I posted into the top 20 – another good show. Nice to see some wines I wouldn’n normally consider.

    Love the Montelena Chardonnay

THANK YOU so much for the birthday shout-out! My girlfriend emailed that in for me and she is the best ever!

QOTD: Haven’t had a Chard that has made me tingle.

Are you going to put together a care package for everyone on the cruise with good smelling things like kiwi soap to train our noses and palates?
Good for you for getting the wine rules changed. Not that I really want to tote a bunch of wine on board; clearly there are those who do and I hope I make friends with them.

QOTD: to tell the truth I’m sort of down on chardonnay right now having had several chards lately whose oak level was uncomfortable for me. I get a queasy feeling when I think about it.

I enjoyed the 2005 Robert Denogent last week. I’m curious to watch this episode to see what you think of the 2006. I also just bought 2007 Domaine des Valanges St. Veran and 2006 Domaine Daniel Pollier, En Messie, Saint Veran. I’ve been sampling St Veran recently. I can’t wait to watch.

    Gary,

Recent winner in Chardonnay Land that I have been drinking is Peter McCoy 1999 Chard. Unfiltered CA Chard that is not over the top, and has done well with some cellar age. Pears, Granny Smiths, almond oil and some decent acid.

    Thanks for the good reco’s

  • What a fun show…2005 Verget Meursault would probably be the last wine that blew the doors off. Stunning wine, great minerality, and poised to be something special for years to come.

good show, again, not a chard fan, although, I never drank a really good one. It may change my ways.
