Always love the views on Burgundy. If, for anything else, to learn about then ’cause God knows I certainly can’t afford them.

QOTD: My Fiance. She puts up with my wine nerdiness….although, she hates the way I drink it.

Great show! Really enjoyed it. Like the baby poop description. I can relate to that. Learned a lot today. I’d love to try the 2nd wine. Maybe on Christmas…

QOTD – my hubby, but not often enough!

  • Hi Gary,

I know this probably isn’t the place for such a question but I’m trying to register for the forum and it’s saying that my email address is banned. I also tried to email gary@winelibrary but got a rejection error. Are gmail addresses denied from registration or is my email address banned for some reason. I haven’t been on the forums before

I’m totally pumped that you’re having a good time with the cards!

QOTD: With out a doubt my wife. She doesn’t care for wine, but will always go out tasting with me because she knows that I love it. She’s the best!

QOTD: My wine drinking buddies!! Group of us from college started going to a football game between two schools. We’ve now been going to this football game every year for 30+ years. Started out drinking beer and margarita’s, has now evolved to great wine. We’re now working on our 3rd barrel from Crushpad, a 2006 Stagecoach Cab, a 2007 Coombsville Cab, and a 2008 Game Farm (Oakville)as a group. It’s great excuse (we live in different parts of the country) to get together more than once a year for the football game.

I love the cards–I can smell the bubblegum even though the cards are gumless. I have the Bring the Thunder WB–want the new green one, but probably won’t get one in Saturday’s Open House goody bag. Unfortunately can’t attend this one.

QOTD: My husband, Gary. Family and friends come in a close second.

QOTD: My drinking buddy Don. We open up a half dozen bottles and check them out. Followed by a big meal with our families. Lots of fun.

You could not do enough shows on Burgundy! Yep.

Thought your reviews did a nice job of characterizing the wines, such a different set of blokes in the lineup. With that in mind, I would point out as a relative Burgundy newbie that the most intimidating thing about Burgundy is not learning the villages or the crus, but the producers. For the first two you can just read a book, memorize and such. But the producers require time and $$$$. Your show seems to highlight that point, and I really wish you had delved into the producers some. If you’ve got the goods on any of these guys, give it up!

For my own, I have had more Joseph Drouhin (many different Burgundy villages) than any other Burgundy producer (maybe because they are affordable and available), and have had the same experience you had on this show – every time. Passable but totally uninspiring, some just completely flat. Certainly not worthy of the appellations they bottle. I was interested to see you have a similar reaction (I have never had their Pommard).

More Burgundy, more on the producers, woot, woot.

wow Gary. What a great QOTD!

My favorite person to drink wine with is my Fiancee Michelle.

She’s a lab tech by profession…one of the things required of her job is to be able to identify smells for certain growth plates…it sounds kinda gross, but I’m telling you girl has such a sharp pal. She doesn’t have any of the bull poopie wine education either, she just calls it like it is, and loves to have yummy yummy wine with me.

    You’d like her man.

I love drinking wine with my buddies, Jeff and Todd. We all work in the industry (in one way or another) and really have a blast tearing through four or five bottles and just breaking them down all night long. We do a “wine night” about once a week – work and girlfriends permitting. Good show, too, thanks for that.
