Haven’t watched an episode in weeks — good that I tuned in, as this one was a gem. Jancis was wonderful — and, amazingly, GV let her talk! Who knew that would ever happen.

Think I should update my Hugh Johnson? It’s a 1970ish edition, I believe.

QOTD: A very good idea. Jancis is very engaging. Listening to an Oxford educated Master of Wine makes me think Sir Gary Vaynerchuk should return for an episode some day.

Have been seeing your show for ages now. But this was the best episode so far. Great that it was not only about tasting the wine and rating but also just talking about wine in general.

Great Show. Put the bucket in between you two. Jancis nor I care for the Jets, but she’s a lady with amazing accolades that shouldn’t stress or stretch over it. Where is her red carpet?

Long time lurker… finally, coming out.

This was a great idea. I could listen to Jancis talk about wine for days. Jancis is someone I have been following ever since I first got into wine. An absolutely brilliant show.

Being British, Jancis is a true national treasure, and is just a wealth of knowledge.

Gary – thanks for continuing to provide a reason to return day after day to your shows. This was a cut above the rest in many ways.

What an great show! To have to completely different styles come together and talk about these wines and the world of wine was brilliant. Kudos to both Gary and Jancis for making this happen. Best!

It was a great idea that JR was on. A great show.
For me it highlighted the differences between the 2 reviewers, and IMHO Gary brings the qualities that the wine scene needs, incredibly knowledgeable while possesing the common touch.
The wine world has to move away from a Franco-centric pursuit that is used to bolster peoples twisted perceptions of sophistication. To mis-quote a famous man, Wine should be by the people, for the people. I’ll stop writing before I start sounding more like a communist.

It was a wonderful idea for Jancis Robinson to be on WLTV. A great episode! I really enjoyed it.

I like the idea of the British (or European) 20 point scale. It seems to allow one to zero in better than the 100 point scale. Think about it. With the 100 scale 0 to somewhere around 75 isn’t used. It seems that everyone gravitates to a minimum of the upper 80s. The grouping of the 20 scale (if you take the time to learn it) seems more….acute

Gary, I don’t know if you made a conscious effort to tone down with guests or whether Jancis’s poise and elegance had an effect on you, but your chemistry with her was awesome. It really felt like I was watching two great wine tasters enjoying and sharing wine with each other.

Great idea. You should come back and do a double blind tasting together.

I have not been in to wine for that long and have been sifting through Gary’s shows for about a month now. This show represents the best of them. The best shows are the ones were serious knowledge is dropped.

It was especially cool when Jancis dropped a huge load of knowledge on Gary about Sherry and when to drink it. This is why I lurk here and gain knowledge as opposed to some of the other sites that just pontificate.

Thanks Gary for this gighantic bank of wine info. Folks like me appreciate it.
