Gary remember, by european standards, 8 euros is not a cheap wine. all my friends in
France only drink wines under 5 and they can be very very good.

Great show. This is grass roots wine tasting at it’s finest. This is like what I experience every weekend when I go out and taste wines at the local wineries. They’re not the best but they have character and “terroir”. I’m a little surprised that the 2000 didn’t stand up better but then again every winery is in a different place to take advantage of what they get. I totally understand.

QOTD: I would love to work with GARY VAY-NER-CHUK for one day. And since we all know that’s not going to happen…. I would say a undercover Room Report Hotel crtic who get’s to stay at different hotels to report to owners on the over all experience and every detail of the stay a customer would normally encounter and evaluate them on everything from hospitality, customer service, food and beverage, maintenance, cleanliness, room service, restaurants and how the hotel employees treat the guests and so on, etc……

Pretty good show. Too bad the wines were not as interesting as the guest. For once it was nice to hear French words correctly pronounced. If the winemaker was trying to make a statement by producing a cabernet sauvignon dominant wine in Fronsac, it was unfortunately not very convincing.

to JohnnyUtah, wouldn’t you rather ride the giro? it’s not in the summer and it’s not as hot. I’d just like to be retired, spend time with the family, and ride my bike 6 hours a day. not really a job so I didn’t answer the question.

You all, this girl is a true, die-hard Vayniac — when we were working at the same wine shop last year, the very first time we met she grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down this Web site. You’ll love it, she said (and she was right!).

Kristen has organized Wine Library TV tastings with our tasting group (WASTED), brought home Thanksgiving and Christmas special four-packs from Rhode Island (since WL can’t ship to Wisconsin) and is easily one of the most passionate, intelligent drinkers I know.

With Kristen, I drank my first Barolo. We all miss her in Wisconsin!

QOTD: I am working in my dream job (fine arts reporter/sometime wine writer) but for one day it would be awesome to work at a fine chocolate shop.

QOTD: I would spend a day visiting the homes of moms and dads, teaching them about their computers, removing their fear of technology.

Really enjoyed the episode, listening to your guest speak of the vineyards and the every day life there transported me back to Europe.

I lived in Kaiserslautern (Rhineland Phalz region) for 6 years, it’s about a 45 minute drive to Metz France; Man, I miss the wine fests and the harvest celebrations, what a blast.

QOTD – I just landed a contractor job with the U.S. Air Force here in Florida, a position I had sought for the past 3 years…however, my dream job would be to become a renowned chef…a la Anthony Bourdain!

have had some ok fronsac wines. hope they improve though.

QOTD: Maybe a wine writer… getting paid to travel the world sampling wines. That is only if my girlfriend was with me. Maybe just running owning my own wine business… importer/exporter, something like that.

Gary you should totally get a random person off the street and on to the show, or just somebody who doesn’t know wine that well and doesn’t know the show. That way they will be totally unbiased and give their truthful opinions! It would be an amazing episode!

I don’t know exactly what the dream job title would be but I always wanted to do something involving wine and food, maybe something also involving their depiction in various art works. Too late now.
