    Fun episode!

QOTD: A few back when prices hadn’t yet gone skyward. Can’t remember specifics, but I’ll post later if I get time this evening to go take a look…

QOTD — I went with several ‘no-name’ 2005s that looked like fun!

  • Gary, you are the BOMB! Epic episode.

I love these blind-tasting shows. I must say, you have an amazing quality/price ratio feeling…unless you’re cheating 🙂
    Keep up the good work.

    Fun show, love Bordeaux!

Q – Have bought a number of different wines from that vintage, have a Chateau La Grave that’s been calling my name. I know it needs more time, but I HATE waiting!!

QOTD: Pichon Baron, La Gay, Sansonnet, Haut Bergey, Valrose CA, Beychevelle, D’Armailhac, Faizeau, Caronne Ste. Gemme, Reignac, Montviel, Senejac, Petit Bocq, Chateau Cote de Baleau & La Cour D’Argent…………….

  • Hey – thanks for yet a super show.

    Q.O.T.D.:
A few different 05’s, e.g.: a case of Cht. Cantenac Brown (3’cru) and a case of Cht. Belgrave (5’cru).
WISH I had gotten more (do still buy though), but the prices (as all know) do get a bit steep for a CKC 🙂

Im trying to seek out some great offers for 04′ Bordeaux instead – e.g. in DK a bottle of 04′ Cht. Cheval Blanc only costs one tenth of a bottle of 05′ – and the 04′ is amazing!!! 🙂

(Still hoping for more champagne and port shows – please 😉 )

    Love the blinds.

QOTD: None, just can’t get into Bordeaux, tend to stick to the Rhone when it comes to red french wine.

  • I’ve bought… lots of 05 Bordeaux! All of which I immediately drank!

Yesterday I tried the 05 Ch. Barrail Du Blanc, and all I can say is you HAVE to try it!!! ; )

    Gary,

Kudos to the blind tasting………love this type of show. I haven’t commented in a long while, but this show was the tops.

QOTD: I have some O5’s – Chateau Picampeau, Chateau Moulin de Lavaud, and some others…..nothing too high priced. I’m interested in looking for the La Clemence though.

Great show Gary. Very impressed how you hit the prices on each bottle.

QOTD: I have purchased several 2005 Bordeaux, but don’t plan on drinking any until at least 2010. Chat Sansonnet, Chat Haut Brisson, Chat Beaumont, Chat Quinault L’Enclos, Chat Clarke, Listrac, Chat Potensac and a few other

My cellar leans way heavier to the southern Rhone for my palate. The out number Bordeaux 5:1

Hey Gary! Now you’re ringing my bell with the Bordeaux!

    2005 Bordeaux I bought:
    Château Au Grand Paris Supérieur
Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet
    Château Bel-Air (6)
    Domaine du Bouscat (4)
    Château Filhot
    Château Marjosse (4)
    Christian Moueix Merlot Bordeaux Contrôlée
    Château Poitevin (2)
    Château Sansonnet (case)
    Château Tertre de Courban (case)
Vallee de Valeur Mis en Bouteille par EMB 33100 A a Cars France
Château Valrose St. Estèphe Cuvée Alienor (case+++)

I’m still buying, but as you can see, most of what I bought is under $50. And over half is under $25. I’m big on Bordeaux, but just can’t afford to jump in too hardcore with the spendy stuff. I just do the best I can on a budget.

  • QOTD: I’ve only bought a couple. I drank one that was not good at all (Medoc) and had one from Poulliac (sp?) that was really nice, so I got another to hold onto for a while.

QOTD: Clos Moulin Pontet, Chateau L’Escarjean, Chantet Blanet, Mouton Cadet reserve, st emillion, Chateau Roques Mauriac, and a couple others.
This was my first venture away from local wines of Slovenia, Hungary and Austria, which I adore. They are cheap ass booze by any standards, but some of them showed me the capabilities of bordeaux area. I have to note Clos Moulin Pontet. This stands above the crowd enormously. It beats anything below 30 eur easily for the price of 5 eur.

This year I am aimig to more well known chateaus and expanding not only pallete, but also the wallette 😉
