oh. man. She is sensual, spunky, entertaining… Good guest. She makes you look like a child. smile. wow. She would not have surprised me by saying “come up to my place, sometime”. man!

wow. I really think this is one of the top 12, and I’ve watched them all.

QOTD: what wine goes with Ingrid… something sweet and spicy. Oh, it’s a Gertz!
Ingrid and a Gertz! I have a dream!

I’m not sure why but I’m thinking it would have been cool if Ingrid had done a pile-driver on Gary. lol

That looked like fun, but I don’t know what the question is. I’ll look for the show on Food TV, though…

Wow Gary, she cracks me up. I love the comments from your viewers too. I’ll be one of the few to hold my tongue πŸ˜‰

You should have more people who are not wine connoisseurs on your show. It was fun to watch her become more comfortable with expressing what she was experiencing. Very genuine responses.

Enjoyed the show. Ingrid was so “real”. Gotta do more wine/food pairings. One thing I notice in the responses – appears 99% of folks equate Latin food with Mexican food. People, wake up! There’s more to Latin/Spanish food than burritos and chipotle. Follow Gary’s lead – seek out new tastes!!! Try some delicious Cuban food, Argentenian parrillada, or a Seviche from Chile. These cuisines are packed with great Flavors, not scalding spices.

Gotta love the hustle. That was awesome!
QOTD: cumin with chicken and tannic red wines do well for me.

    Beautiful! Loved it.
As a sommelier I love hearing a non-wine-geek just say what they think. And see how some things that I study don’t matter to them at all. Very eye-opening.
In other words Just have fun with it.
It was really cool just watching you two interact and exchange ideas on the pairings. She was a great guest. And, okay, a bit kooky, but oh so much fun.

  • Excellent show, although Ingrid sounded more than a little bit tipsy!
QOTD- Morcilla (I think that’s the name of the Spanish black sausage).

Fun Fun show Gary. Thanks Ingrid!!!!!!!
I am a fan of Ingrid’s show and Food Network in general!

QOTD: What wines pair well with popcorn? Chards come to mind due to the butter, but I bet there are some more intriguing wines to pair with “the corn” and a movie!!!

    great second part
Gary, I’ve never seen you drink so much wine.
I was surprised that Ingrid didn’t seem to take smelling the wine seriously. I know I like to smell food when I’m cooking to get a sense of how it’s coming along. I’ve got no answer to the qotd except the already-mentioned cilantro. I love cilantro and I’m glad it doesn’t taste like soap to me.

Ingrid was the most entertaining guest you’ve had on the show. It was a joy to hear her laugh and go on and on about the food. She was down to earth, funny and her accent is awesome. I hope you will have more exciting guests on the show in the future.

Great show Gary, I work in the restaurant industry and one of the best ways to sell wine is to get people to talk about wine and the food they love with it. Great to have a show about food and wine pairings.

Gary you missed your chance to have a wine and joke pairing….you tell a good pairing by the distance your guest spits the wine while you deliver the punch line….a very fun show
    thanks

  • Once Gary and Ingrid warmed up to each other the chemistry was great! I liked Gary’s unexpected pairings (i’ve got to try that chorizo one). Also Ingrid, if your reading this, I am a big fan, you are one of the only food network stars who’s recipes I actually make. And the QOTD is very convenient for me, since I cook a lot of latino food.

QOTD: Well I have a huge pot of Mexican Chicken Soup, which has chayote espinosa, carrots, garbanzos, toasted fideos and of course chiles. (no tomato tho) what could I pair this with?

Gary…this is a very funny episode…It nice to see you both under the influence of alchool ….For whites I love Sancerre wines and ALbarino of course …but have you never tried the Quincy ones ? Quincy is not far from Sancerre but produces wines which I think are cheaper and in par with Sancerre.
    I love your shows….

Good buy from the Old world………Europe.
