  • Ohhhhh sooo much fun. The reason I watch you at night which becomes the highlight of my day. Wow

QOTD #1: Not that I remember and kudos on your trivia question. I’m sure to pull that one out this weekend with some wine geeks.

    QOTD #2: Bazooka

Yes, better wines enhance your enthusiasm but how is one to know which are good or so-so before you taste them?

I’ll need to get some of that last wine from Marco Felluga which I adore their pinot grigios. I remember when I went to the Italian Open a few years back that I pounded many a glass of the Felluga.

    Cheers!

So I’ve been watching wine library for the last 6 months or so, and I was wondering: have you ever done a sake episode?

If you haven’t, have you ever considered doing a sake episode?

I’ve only recently had my first taste of sake and I find myself intrigued. I’m definitely going to have some more and I was curious to see if you had ever (at least publicly) reviewed any sakes.

Not a fan of gum, but do love my Italian whites; namely the pinot biancos and the tocai frulianos. I’ll take an Italian white wine over any other white from any region any day!! For the money? Are you kidding me?

    Thanks for the show.

The debate rages – What will last longer, gum in a deck of baseball cards or Twinkies?

    QOTD2: Wrigley’s 5.

21 year old gum stick must have been a museum piece! Good one GV, kudos for trying.

  • QOTD: 5. I think it’s because on some level I keep hoping that I’ll get pelted with a million oranges one day at work.

Great show. I’m going to work to track down that Pinot Bianco up in Duluth. Wish I could order from WL, but alas Minnesota just isn’t in the cards.

    See you on Twitter.

  • Great show! You need to try the Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier on the show. A great value and wine (80% chenin blanc). 1987 Topps, ooh the memories. Favorite gum, bazooka!

    MY NUMBER ONE QUESTION:

What kind of watch does Gary V. wear? Looks like a nice square watch with a white dial – care to elaborate? PLEASE?!? I mean even just a shout-out on the next show…

    THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!

    Yours Truly,

  • sub-QOTD: you’re drinking a lot of wines I’ve had lately! Though in this case, the 2002 Baumard Savennières. I really didn’t like it at all… wonder if something was off with it, considering the other cellartracker reviews:

11/22/2008 rated 82 points: Diverse Loire Wines (My House (Portland, OR)): Very stinky on the nose. Smells of wet oak and wet wood in general, along with a rotten pear. Similar notes on the mid-palate as on the nose, with a bit more added complexity, but really not enjoyable to my palate. After seeing the notes here, I re-tasted this the next day and confirmed my note and score.

I’ve ate old gum from those Topps packs… it’s normally not that bad!

QOTD: I don’t like gum anymore.

    Wow, another great episode!

Favorite gum? For Christmas I picked up a brick (case) of Japanese Gum called “Black Black” which is intensely peppermint flavored and reminiscent of eating strong peppermint candy with a piece of menthol cough drop thrown-in for good measure. As an added bonus the gum has some caffeine too (great for late-night computer work or stashing in the glove compartment). Overall I’m really impressed with the flavors of gum you can find in Japan including Peach-Jasmine and Red Grapefruit among others; really tasty and worth searching out!

Awesome laugh I got from the end. Whew!

    Another fun and enterestaining show.

Bubbleicious was my favorite way back in the days when that pack of cards was wrapped. Brave is a man who’ll try to make gum from dried out tree rubber.

Don’t like gum now, but used to like Doublemint and Clove. Now they put aspartame in gum, not nice!

Try a Nicolas Joly Chenin, a white that can age beautifully for 10+ years!
Don’t pair it with a “Bologna” sandwich (?) If you can’t find Russiz Pinot Bianco try and find Giovani Puiatti.

Hey, just another shout-out as I had some fond reminiscences concerning Fruit-Stripe gum (remember that gum with colorful striped lines and the Zebra mascot). The only time I ever chewed the stuff was when my family traveled by plane as it must have been available in the airport and purchased as a last-minute snack. Really powerfully strong flavor (assorted fruit-flavors) for about 30-seconds and then WHAM!-Nothin’…
