    Congratulations, Gary!!! My advice to you and your wife is to read to your child everyday! I am a reading specialist in Mystic, CT and it’s the kids who haven’t been read to and who haven’t discovered to joy of books that I provide remedial service to. Make sure when you create your baby registry add Borders or one of those great book stores in your area to the list!
    A book is a gift that keeps on giving! I wish you both the best!

    congrats gary. bringing our daughter into this world was the single best thing that has ever happened to me and my wife (aside from meeting each other, of course). someone said it earlier, there is no instruction manual. my only advice is to enjoy every minute.

    While yer wife’s pregnant, get her anything she wants, anytime she asks for it and be ready to accept that everything is your fault. Always. She’ll love you even more.

    Once the kid is here, the above still applies, but also: get the kid anything the kid wants/ needs, anytime it is asked (or yelled for). At least for the first year. When the kid can start asking you with words, you can start to make judgements on his/her requests.

    Spend every moment you can with the kids. It’s like SciFi the way time suddenly passes more quickly once you have a kid.It’s a huge cliche, and all the parents with grown kids will tell you they grow up in a blink of an eye, but it’s the truth.

    That’s more than one thing…sorry

    No need to be a parent to give advice on this one…just need to live long enough to advise that…you should enjoy every minute and that you can never love too much.

    Being a dad is the best! Start thinking about your wine for their 21st birthday. I have a ’99 Lafite for my son and a ’03 Leoville Barton for my daughter. Hopefully they will be drinking beautifully when their time comes. Enjoy because time will start to fly.
