I recently had the 06 Gonon St. Joseph rouge and thought it was excellent. Haven’t yet tried the Blanc though. However, I was recently talking to someone about it who said he just tasted the ’91, which is apparently still holding up well, for what its worth.

Come on Mott, runing out of tape? Also the wine link for what was tasted is wrong….fist the tape now the link? Gary check him for a head injury.

I agree with Grapedog… this guy just doesn’t seem like he knows his stuff… and if has REALLY been watching you for over a year, would he not know to do the sniffy-sniff before the whirl? A little phony to me too…

Love white rhones, but not this episode so far. Even if berets do well to symbolize JETS fans ;).

I’m not sure if this guys knows his stuff or not but to me he seems like he’s intimidated and afraid to say the wrong thing. Fun episode though and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

Loved part one and we cant wait for part two. Gary sorry we love the beret but to make it perfect it really needed to have GIANTS on it. Mott dont worry about the tape we all slip up from time to time.

Finally a guest who can explain the mysterious TearWah that has escaped me for so long. From what I picked up, Terrior is not just about the wine, but also the food and culture of the region along with the general vibe of the place interacting with the wine. Thanks Robert, that’s why French wine taste better in France than in California. It’s not just the soil and climate, along with the grape and winemaking techniques, but the whole experience of the region. I look forward to reading your book.

That was great, and fun actually.
I was going to say something about the phone ringing and the beret and the light blinking in the camera but Mott’s intervention made me realize why I watch and love this show, and Gary saying that is why he does it was so cool.

Interesting guest, I would like to read his book.

The wine sounds actually good, I like licorice and would like to taste just to make sure I like or dislike the wine.

Just read the guest’s book over Christmas, and it definitely brings a different perspective than most wine books; focuses on the people, the wine-makers, which is cool, and connects wine to each locality. Can’t wait for tomorrow. But I hope Gary backs off a bit (he’s quite a force of nature, insane, funny as hell), and let the dude tell some of the stories, esp. for everyone who hasn’t read the book. This guy is very different from what I imagined in his book, but he’s game, so hope so let’s hope we get some insights. I think they should do more shows together…. maybe in France!
