That Cornas sounds fantastic. I’ll be in the Rhone in less than 2 months and am definitely going to be bringing some back….if it will fit.

QOTD: Nah..gimme the automatic e-checkers anyday. What I hate is lines.

Can we show the book while he gives the question of the day? There have been many guests with books and that’s the first person to ask for shameless promotion…what a poser. What a waste of time.

I have to say I watched over half of your episodes in 2 months time and you could have done these 3 wines by yourself and it would have been an awesome show but you guest kinda lowered the bar. Sorry to be so hard but I have to tell the truth. P.S. I hate makeup because you might wake up with a monster if you cant see the real thing

When I think of my friends who are writers, articulate is one of the first words that come to mind. Not so here. As others have said, perhaps Robert was feeling overwhelmed. I suspect he was rather out of his element.
I am greatly interested in the subject of terroir, and was disappointed not to have heard anything about it in theses two episodes.

    QOTD: Those things are terrific!

  • I wasn’t felling it. I hope he can sell the rest of those books somewhere else, because I don’t think most people here are going to buy…AND I think that’s the highest score I’ve ever seen you give on the show. That must have been some wine.

    QOTD: I haven’t flown since 9/11.

Part 2 of a very good show. Your guest is very very good. One of your best articulate and confident guests.
QOTD: Auto Check in’s are great. One less freakin’ moron in my road. love them!

I agree with Robert. What happened to people? Voice mail, airport check in, online ordering, we lose something when we take the human element out of our daily lives.

  • QOTD: How could something that saves you time at the airport not be great?!? They still have the people at the desk if you want them.

    Looking forward to tomorrow’s show!

Have to agree with everyone.I have been watching and enjoying you for about 2 years and this guy did not bring the thunder. From one wacky episode to another I have enjoyed them greatly, for their spontaneity and truthfulness (if not for just pure wackiness). This is not anyones fault mind you, just a thought. Has he really lived in France? Everyone deserves a shot at promotion but come on! At least bring something to the table if you have been really watching for a year.

Way to promote your book by asking such a great terroir question. I love the ’04 LaGuardias with their subtle jet fuel and Cinnabon notes.

We never got to the book!?

Oh well, so many things to talk about. Wine is above all our priority. I know Gaillac for its reds. I’ve never had a white ‘sweet’ wine from that region. You know what’s funny? We think of Gaillac as an emerging region when really it’s one of the oldest regions to grow vines, make good wine, and export it. Its history is way pre-Bordeaux. It used to make and ship wine to northern France through Bordeaux while the Médoc was still under water…

    Fun fact!

  • Steve & Lisa

Gary we love your show but your choice in guests on this one was really bad. We felt that he advoided your questions and was only there to promote his book. We love watching you and have learned alot from you but sorry to say that I feel a little dumber for having to listen to robbie. Please DO NOT ever have him on your show again.Look foward to your next show. Steve & Lisa

Not a big fan of this guy. I really felt like he didn’t add anything constructive to the conversation. He was suppose to be discussing terrior and the only thing I heard him say was he likes French food. The topper for me was the fact he spent twice as much time talking about airport kiosks than he did about any of the wines on the show.

QOTD – I think kiosks are lamer than Alaska.

I looked forward to read more of Robert’s books. If any of you might realize, this was the guy’s first book tour, and first time on any sort of live media. Have some respect and open your minds. I would love to see how some of you would do next to Gary. As a Frenchman, I can tell, and having actually read and loved his book, he knows a lot more than most travel writers. He’s a good friend of Nicholas Joly, and his book has been called the best book on France this year by Eric Asimov, which is why I read it. And if you can read French, then read the reviews in France, which are also superb. There is a translation coming out soon in French. I’m actually surprised at some of the low-brow comments. “No more Italian guys”? What kind racist garbage is that? You people don’t have a clue. Sadly. I love Gary, but don’t know why he attracts such shallow people. Oh well.

  • That was great monsieur Vaynerchuk… PePe Vaynerchuk…lol

I can’t wait for the cigar thing to happen…!!!! You keep hinting about that. You really need to have me on. I have smoked since I’m 15…almost as many years as you have been alive…..but hey, you knew that. Everytime I see you I smell like a cigar. That’s why I hug you.. I know you hate them…lol

One thing… Randi’s comments are very hard to understand. I wonder if one of those machines at the Airport can figure out what she said…??

If I get a chance to ever travel I’ll let you know what I think of them. Unlike Randi, I don’t get around much. Randi is a world traveler and uses a machine at the airport like I use a cigar lighter.

Fun ep. <<<<< What’s that short for Randi????

QOTD: If it was all hot women working the booths I would prefer that kinda interaction. If not the other is fine.

Don’t judge a guest on just one apperance. Alot of people might not like WLTV if they judged Gary just by ONE episode!!!
