Not my favourite guest (a little bit full of himself), but I have to hand it to him, one of the very few guests to actually say what he thinks about the wines. Maybe you need a super ego to have the confidence to say it as you see it. Kudos to him for that but the hat and the dodgy handshake at the end mean he has more minuses than pluses for my palate

  • QOTD: Moxie. I’m not going to spoil the experience by describing it, just find it (only produced in New England) and try it.

  • Aren’t you supposed to have a Mac Book Air?

That little banter back and forth really shows off their friendship,
and it’s adorable on the show. Very cool guys.

  • Did he say Prager opened a $2,000.00 bottle of Opus One 1994?
    I wonder how it was?

Killer show! Whole lot of fun listening to you guys going back and forth. Also, I’m a nerd, have heard of digg, but have not had the pleasure of hearing about Kevin, so that was nice too. Finally, I thought you were banned from using the term ‘dessert wine’? As for non-alcohol beverages, I drink a lot of Coke, as well as coffee out of those Folgers bins.

  • QOTD: My Grandmother’s home-made iced tea. She used to only start making it on the first day of spring…so it’s kind of a tradition for me. Another fun show…thanks

Great show, as it was right up my alley. I have a bottle of Chateau Rieussec 2003 Sauternes in storage, which is supposed to be quite good (WS=100pts, WA=96pts). My wine mentor, who gave it to me, recommended that I drink it ASAP. He drinks great Sauternes often, but this is my first bottle, as I am not naturally drawn towards sweet beverages in general. Should I wait? Or should I open it now and enjoy my first Sauternes? I also agree that many Cotes du Rhone offerings can be great, easy-drinking values.

QOTD: Green teas and teas in general and drinks that are rather benign on the palate. It saves the buds for grander experiences.

Dry soda is the #1 non-alchoholic drink on the face of this earth. I’m surprised there isn’t a dry soda tasting show. My wife and I tried it in Seattle and immediately bought more for the rest of the vacation. Check out drysoda.com

Fantastic episode! Good combo with Kevin on there, seems like a cool guy.

QOTD: Like most people I love coffee, but on a more interesting note I’ve been drinking Kefir quite a bit recently. The flavored kinds are really good (peach, strawberry, blueberry, pomegranate)

Good episode – you can really see that Kevin has a good palette and is learning heaps about wine from Gary.

QOTD: proper coffee. None of this Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts burnt hot water. When I was in NY I found a little place called Abraxo.. amazing coffee!

  • Mr Cook

Gary V has said in the past that the opening rounds of the NCAA tourny are the only days he takes off for his own personal use. I suspect this is why there have been no new shows since Wednsday.

Great episode, you guys looked like you were having fun! (I want to hear the stories AJ has….) Totally getting Kevin on living close to Napa and only getting to the same few places every time! I have ventured to Anderson Valley, I stumbled upon wineries practically around the corner from my favorite campground, and I keep going back. I know you’ve touched on some Anderson Valley Pinots (Breggo is awesome) but how about something a bit more in depth???? They have SOOOOOOO much more to offer!

    QOTD: Tazo Brambleberry Juice.
