Good solid episode, Gary pumped, in form and back on the couch.

  • Great episode GV!! I picked up a pinot noir and a malbec for the weekend. I’ve never had either one (I know, lame right?) so I’m excited to try them.

    Happy Easter everyone!!

  • Playing golf, watching golf, drinking some bubbly tonight with leftovers. I had the Renwood at the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta in September. It was even woodier than you describe but that was my experience with almost every Zind there. All of them but Ridge were trying to be mini Cabs. Will have to get the Hermitage Blanc as generally I only get white CDP’s.

  • QOTD: Spending time with a pretty girl, drinking a 2007 Sebeka Cabernet Pinotage.

It will be my first wine from South Africa as I am still very early into my wine tasting career. I’m a relatively new viewer and have been watching Wine Library TV only since November, but am only now leaving my first comment. I’m not sure why it took so long, but I suppose it’s better late than never. Just thought I would finally answer a QOTD and and thank you for all the great and informative work you do in both the wine and business world, you have taught me an awful lot.

    Hey Gary;
What wine would you suggest to go with peeps? Easter is not easter if you don’t at least consume a package (or 2) of those sweet little delights.

QOTD: I’m drinking my way slowly through a case of CK Mondavi family vinyards, Willow Springs Chardonnay right now. My economic situation dictates I cut my target price for wine to 1/4 of what it used to be and this bottle fits the bill.

  • Crushing it. No, really.

I hadn’t given a lot of thought as to what to drink, though; it’s been that kind of week. Lamb and Barbaresco maybe, I haven’t had a nice nebbiolo for awhile.

QOTD: Good Friday and Easter services, Easter dinner here w/ family; tomorrow a bunch of friends over to help us slap a deck on the back of the house (in getting ready for my Mom to move in @ the end of the month), potluck dinner and there will be drinking- who knows what. I haven’t had time to think about it. I may pull out a Lambrusco for the wine averse in the group…

yo, was introduced in a sense to hermitage as a region in episode 398 and fell in love with the region. been trying to find the value plays (which are certainly tricky to pin down) and it looks like this hermitage blanc fits that bill.

this will be my first hermitage blanc – hopefully not my last.

    drinking this weekend:
    2008 Breggo Cellars Syrah Rosé
2002 Domaine Louis Moreau Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
2005 Domaine des Baumard Coteaux du Layon Clos de Sainte Catherine

    best,

Nice ep. I’m always open to new kinds of white whine, although I drink red wines a lot more. Too bad we really don’t have those Rhone blancs available here in Finland.

QOTD: Went to a friends house and had a steak with a 2006 Norton Privada which was off the hook. I’m usually a huge fan of Italian wines but in its price range (~15?) this was a lot better than all the Ripassos I’ve tasted. I hope u can try this wine on your show someday.
