Great episode. GV starting to get a bit cocky, but that suits this episode. The guest was really knowledgeable and the final wine was a monster. Even Mott had some decent input! Nice one.

A big part of me just wants to see some old school WLTV – GV, 3 bottles and a crap-load of energy! That being said, I haven’t seen you this excited about a wine since the 05 bordeaux!

    Ive never had a Condrieu…so I will be trying that..and I think I want the magazine too!

    QOTD: For me, a magazine focused on wine..I would want Diversity..Im still learning and would love to be exposed to everything..not just the names of wines, but the history behind it.

    Great show, good guest. Qotd: Maybe you could do a several part feature of wine collections and the people behind high end wine/spirit auctions. Maybe include the sellers and buyers, something that takes you inside the high end wine world with a featurette on auctions.

    QOTD: I mostly look for real content based on the writers true thoughts on the subject matter, so no PC kind words to wineries who underwhelm even if they are supporters.

  • Good to see that guy get his mag on there. I met his whole crew at an event the Friday before the Taste of Washington and had a great time talking with their resident beer dude.

    I have the current issue of their mag but have to say it wasn’t my favorite. I’ll keep checking back though because the guys were pretty cool.

    Haven’t really tried much Viogniers to date. A week ago though I tasted two, one from Eden Valley, Chile and other from Hawkes Bay, NZ. The Chilean was pretty mediocre but I really digged the fruit of the NZ one, especially the really strong peach flavor. Hope I’ll come across a bottle of Condrieu one day after seeing this ep.

    QOTD: First of all I’m from Finland where we have the liquor monopoly so the situation is a lot different. Wine writers here can’t really say a bad word about products that are sold here. The main thing I would want to get from a wine (and other beverages) mag is just brutal honesty.

    The reason Condrieu is “over-priced” is that it is such a small AOC.. and there is so little to go around.
