line of the day – ‘I killed the sink’

GV in his element here with no distractions. There’s no getting away from it – he’s one hell of an entertaining guy. I think if he strapped the flipcam to his head and walked around with it all day I’d probably be addicted to watching the results. What does that say about me? Better not think too hard about it!

  • Chops on the road — nice one.
QOTD – There’s a cheese bar in the Ritz Carlton in Salt Creek (Laguna Niguel technically), California that serves great wine flights and superb gourmet nibble plates… charcuterie..chocolate.. very good stuff.. knowledgeable staff. Qualifies as “best meal” tho not a true full-service scarf.

  • Whoops – forgot to name it. It’s called Eno.

  • Good guess… Root:1 is 9-10 bucks, retail. ’06 was a 90 point Parker.

Yay Gary…good episode. Love the flip cam action.

QOTD: Best room service was at the Marriott-Chicken fingers and fries after a long hot day of watching college football-Virginia Tech I think. I never order room service so this was a rare occasion. Mmm chicken.

Love the myspace style shots with the flip cam.

QOTD: Best meal I’ve eaten in a hotel was take in at a Holiday Inn from Nick’s House of Ribs in Ocean City, Maryland. I hadn’t eaten lunch that day and diving into a full rack of ribs never felt better.

  • */^_^*

QOTD: right off the top of my head…..the hyatt in denver has this southwestern eggs benedict which was delicious.

also, the nachos at an all-inclusive in puerto vallarta of which me and my friend partook of several times a day while we were there…..mmmmmmm…….

Hey.. Where’s my response? I wonder if you filter the s*ck word? I will retype with the word, stink.
QOTD: Hotel restaurants normally are overpriced and stink. Especially in Boston.
GV you look a little blown out from last night.. Awesome!

i am really starting to like the hotel shows.

QOTD – not quite sure. had other good stuff at hotels though.

That was a fun one Gary! Root 1 is actually one of my regulars that I pick up at my local Walgreens for an everyday drinker (we don’t have much selection in this little town) I enjoy it as much as many 10 dollar wines (you were right it’s everyday price here is $9.99)

QOTD: Probably the best food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant, was leftovers from lunch from an italian joint after a Los Lonely Boys concert….the food wasn’t that great, but after all that singing/dancing/beer drinking, we were down to GRUB!

QOTD: That has to be a Vegas answer, since there are so many awesome restaurants in those hotels. I would say Bartolotta at Wynn and Andre’s at Monte Carlo. Oh, and Olives at Bellagio has to be there (reasonable wines by the glass, too).

Surprisingly a pretty good episode. Gary, PLEASE keep doing episodes like these. They really rock my face off. Thanks!

QOTD: Not sure if this qualifies, but at the Borgata at Bobby Flay Steak, I saddled up to the bar and ordered a bottle of ’06 Vineyard 29 Cab, a lobster & calamari salad, grilled asparagus, rare+ bone-in ribeye, baked alaskan & a half bottle of desert wine. Delcious!

  • Really good show. I’ve had Root:1 a couple of different times and it’s always shown fairly well. Spot on about the $10 ballpark.

QOTD: Meal at Bouchon in Vegas. The fois gras and the fries are ridiculous.

Early post! This was again a fun episode. I checked CellarTracker & the Root1 does indeed run ~$9-10. I think I saw it at my local grocery store so I may have to check it out.

QOTD: I was not staying at the hotel, but attended a banquet at the Ritz in Cleveland & the food blew me away. It was an incredible surf & turf with white glove service. The Yankees were also staying there the night of our event & so I got to see Jeter & A-Rod up close; even though I hate the Yankees it was cool.

QOTD- I think the best meal that I have had in a hotel would be the Saturday Lunch (Shabbat Lunch) at the Kind David hotel in Jerusalem. Anywhere with a huge bowl of quail eggs and Fois Gras would also probably make the cut though.

Good stuff. Yeah Root 1 is pretty respectable juice (no Anwilka, however!)

QOTD: Aujourd’hui at the Four Seasons in Boston, MA is pretty sick.

    QOTD:
I had some duck at Osteria del Cirque in the Bellagio that stands out. In all honesty though, it was also the first time I had a bottle of Amarone…and I think that is what made it so special. I also want to apologise Gary for my lack of comments the past week or so. You come through everyday for us,and I am sorry for not doing the same. Thanks for the show!
