line of the day – ‘I killed the sink’

GV in his element here with no distractions. There’s no getting away from it – he’s one hell of an entertaining guy. I think if he strapped the flipcam to his head and walked around with it all day I’d probably be addicted to watching the results. What does that say about me? Better not think too hard about it!

QOTD: At the Vista Palace Hotel, Cote C’Azur, 1551 Route de la Grande Corniche Roquebrune Cap-Martin(on the cliff overlooking the casino in Monte Carlo)…the restaurant is “Le Vistaero” = panoramic view of the harbor. The scenery, service and visual presentation of the meal were superlative and the tournadoes of beef measured up to the view. Naples Kathy aka Champagne Lady

Second day in a row that I can’t view the video when it first comes up. Just white screen.

Wow, three episodes in a row that are almost totally unwatchable.

QOTD: best meal ever in a hotel would have to be at the Bellagio; just about everything there was great, from Noodles to the buffet to the little sandwich place right off of the sports book to the gelateria. Everything was just tremendous.

Love the hotel episodes. The W is all about customer service with a lot of nice features such as the wine bar and comfortable beds.

QOTD – At the Courtyard Marriott Stamford had the burger from Napa & Co. Best burger I’ve ever had hands down and a pretty good wine list.

Thanks for the episode. People should not complain – it is not like they are paying an admission price!!

Love the comment on Root1 “not that aweful” 😉

QOTD: not counting LV casino hotels, I would say that it had to be at the W in New Orleans.

    Gary,

Rockin’ episode. Though, you need a steady cam. Was feeling a little nauseous there for a while. Going to try that Root One with Pizza one night this week. It’s in just about every wine shop here in Boston.

Great show! Root 1 is $7 at Costco on Maui and plays at about $9 at the local wine store. Great guess and wow $32 bones at the W that is surely minibar markup for sure!

QOTD – Sendai Japan – Metropolitan Hotel at the Serenity Restaurant

My question for you is please do a show on bordeaux and discuss the 2008 futures.

  • QOTD: More specifically I’ll mention a breakfast that blew me a way. Never expect much from the free continental b-fasts at hotels, but when the wife and I stayed at the Inn at Price Tower (http://pricetower.org/innatpricetower/ I.E., Middle of Nowhere, Oklahoma) the breakfast was stellar. Fresh fruits, waffles etc of good quality, to be eaten on the 18th floor balcony. If you want an interesting place to stay in Eastern Oklahoma, the Inn at Price Tower is the spot.

Gary, how about a little setup before the show, all that moving is distracting. Also distracting…look at the camera when your talking, not at yourself. Anyway, I always go for the Chilean wine. They tend not to export crap unlike other plaes like France who export bottle pisss. Root1 is a good everyday wine, consistent every year i’ve had it.

QOTD: I’ve eaten at various Hotel restaurants, nothing worth mentioning.

QOTD: Alway love a good hotel club sandwich from room service. Some mean smoothies made in the twin cities hotels too.

Not that you need the additional street credibility but . . . taking your dates to a hotel room . . . nice. Peace.

I really like the hotel tastings… unmade bed, spitting in the sink and all.
qotd; The Heathman in Portland has a fantastic restaurant as does the Parc Monceau in Paris.
