line of the day – ‘this is one putrid effort of a Nebbiolo’

The lighting in this flipcam episode was way too dark which is a shame as the end result is spoiled a bit. The highlight for me is when a random guy peers through the window from the street near the end… obviously thinking WTF is going on here.

    Hey Gary –

Good to see you have a Nebbiolo on here. Another I’d like to see more of is the Nero D’Avola – it’s such a refreshing varietal that flys too far under the radar.

Keep up the good work out there!

Good stuff, just to preempt any knuckleheads talking about shaky cameras or bad backlight, I’m just happy to get an episode and thanks for keeping them coming with a hectic schedule.

QOTD: Best wine by the glass was something from I think Lebanon that I can’t remember that was super spicy and really interesting. Worst glass was a glass of Silver Oak from a bottle that must have been opened the week prior.

Hey Gary, you ever try and Laetitia winery single vineyard Pinots? Wondering what your take is before I pony up some dough.

  • Kevin K

QOTD: Sorry G, I don’t roll deep enough to go to wine bars. 🙂

best by the glass.. Navarro Pinot Noir. worst … A crappy industrial Prosecco.. don’t recall what it was.
BTW start telling these wine bars to sell wine cheaper by the glass. IF you can sell a pint of good beer for 5 bucks, you can do the same for wine.

If anyone wants to know Gary’s real name, check the link for the Sam Ettus show.

best – same bar, a spanish wine which was not ground breaking but honest and great for bar drinking.
i am sorry about this. i am normally an encyclopedia when it comes to wine but i am losing my marbles

  • How where the wines soted since they were opened- do they mark the bottle- those bottles may have been open for days and days if it didnt sell?

QOTD: Best – A-Z Pinot; Worst – never saw the label, house wine, ice cold chard – watery and no bouquet even after it warmed.

Once again a missed opportunity to go to the military action figure for use with reference to “Major Pass” . . . don’t want to carry one around for flip eps (or any reason for that matter). . . ok, understood . . . how about a compromise of using a Sanchez action figure with life-like arm motion for the “studio” broadcasts. SIDE NOTE: Still think the Jets got over when the Browns gave a major pass to the No. 5 pick. Peace.

Big G, Got to call em as I see em and that show was just down right horrible. Bad, Bad, Bad camera work. You must understand that when in front of a Camera the light needs to be in your face not Vice/Versa. Number 2 Bad, Bad Wine, well it least 2 at of 3. Come on Bro. Your fans deserve better. LOL
Still love ya. I’m just sayin’

QOTD. It’s been a very long time since I had a good Wine by the Glass.

QOTD: As a matter of fact I have not had a bad wine by the glass in the last 97 days. In fact the only one I had was an Italian Cuvée which was rated 90 points by R. Parker and was really good. But sadly I can’t remember the name.

  • QOTD: No idea when the last time I ordered a wine by the glass was. Let alone a best and a worst. It’s either a bottle to share, or I go with beer.

If you got swine flu from the cabernet, would that make it wine flu?
