QOTD – I have not really had many older wines. I did have a busy weekend selecting my wedding location in Long Island. We ended up going with Bedell Cellars which should be a great time.

I cried, just a little, watching you dump awesome wines down the sink.

Gary, doesn’t every hotel room ever, have an ice bucket. I was at this shady, dive hotel across from the Taj Majal in AC and it had an ice bucket. Next time maybe you could spit into that, write jet’s on the side if you have to. However i enjoy seeing sinks from around the world. Maybe it’s time for SinkLibrary.tv.

QOTD’s: No epics. Other than cleaning out & weeding the driveway border garden, the weekend was spent continuing to settle into new routines now that my Mom has come to live with us.

This weekend was laid back- Friday night Grilled some Jalapeno Burgers with Chedder, Saturday made some sweet potato pancakes for breakfast then jamed whipped up a Carbonara and had that with 2002 Califoria Sangiovese- Also a Pedroncelli 01 Petite Sirah and today did a Corned beef slow cooked with dry rub and had a Hungarian white wine- So that was my weekend

QOTD: It’s late, and I’m tired, so nothing is automatically jumping out at me, but the second part of this question is easy, this weekend I signed a lease for my new apartment in grad school. Fun times.

Now THIS is what I’m talkin about! Good show GV… would love to see more of these style shows… Perhaps with older vintage retrospectives like 82 Bord’s, or mid 90’s Aussies. Or classic Barolo vintages.. PLEASE try and tape some of these!

Tasted a sip of an end of a bottle of 83 chateau Margaux. It was exquisite. Had a whole bottle of with a friend who has a great collection of an Échezaux 1970. That was quite spectacular as well. That was 2 years ago, though and i don’t remember the producer.

QOTD: I think a 2003 CDP is the oldest wine I’ve had, but it was very good. I’m catching this on Monday but over the weekend I went out to celebrate my amazing girlfriend graduating college and went to a baseball game.

“qotd” had an ’83 Lafite-Rothschild with my gf’s dad last weekend, I think I love him even more.

1982 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux &
1989 Domaine Rossignol Trapet Latricières-Chambertin.

I had them both on the same night, before my brother’s wedding. Awesome!

The Pavillon was puchased in France in the mid-80’s & the Chambertin was purchased recently at Sotheby’s.

Great old wine really takes you places…AMM
