Hey, NY Pete- the forums are fun, but my spare time has gotten so spare (taking care of Mom et al) that I’m limited to comments. That’s why it’s so much fun to see you, Kahuna and others of the crew in the comments again!

Ok I need to share this:
I literally laughed out loud when that bucket came in the picture, that thing is awesome! Might’ve been on the show before but I sure didn’t see it before.

Side Q: I have no idea, but sounds awesome
QotD: Have had none, not a big fan of sweet wines. But now I know I have to ask for something less sirupy, I don’t like that stuff.
QotD 2: Mott is the Man, he is so taking over the show before #1000

    1) No dessert wine in ’09! A tragedy I’ll have to soon remedy. Thanks for the heads up.

    2) So awesome that a scientist once tried to empirically quantify precisely how awesome Mott is and has to this day never stopped experiencing overflow errors.

  • QOTD: Mott is a little something I like to call the Cat’s Pajamas. he is where it’s at.

Best dessert wine is a 2007 Frescolina from Viansa winery in Sonoma. it’s one of the most beautiful vineyards I’ve ever been to.

I liked this episode, straight and to the point. The helmet dump at the
    end was classic.

QOTD: Mott is da bomb. Best dessert ’09? – Heidi Schrock Ausbruch
“On the wings of Dawn 2006” – one of the best wine makers in
Austria and a really sweet lady.

    Crushed this episode.

QOTD 1: Can’t recall the maker have to look at the receipt, but had an excellent Late Harvest Chenin from Quarts de Chaume from the winelist of Patina. Had dinner, rushed to see a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, then came back for dessert right after with my lady. It could have been the night, but the wine truly was magnificent.

QOTD 2: Love the Mottster and it’s always a treat when he makes a cameo to see his reactions to tasting a wine.

  • Great straightforward episode!

    Question of the Day.
I was recently at the Southern Wine and Spirits “Best of the Best” Tasting In San Francisco and the wine that blew me away..when i was not expecting it… was Inniskillin Riesling Ice Wine! WOW what an amazing wine with phenomenal flavors from papaya, to figs and even some powerful spices! Really kicked ass!

So far I have enjoyed tasting the banyuls grand cru cuvee reservee 1989 from l’etoile, that’s great stuff, the yquem 1995 was also great, the vin santo from tenuta trerose, and great tokaji five puttunyos, lustau’s east india solera cream sherry and today I have bought the yquem 1997 and 2003, but for me wine is about creating unique moments with friends and family! What more can I say?

QOTDs: Don’t know darth-vayner. Haven’t had a dessert wine in 2009, none since early 2000’s, sweet isn’t my favorite flavor. Mott is awesome. You never know when he’ll get a sniffy sniff. Getting ready for the vayner-baby announcement. Getting ready to say mazel tov.

Gary, it is awesome to see your excitement in the days before becoming a father. I’m sure you will CRUSH IT as a Dad with all your passion.

QOTD: Best dessert wine in 2009 was a Sauternes but I don’t remember the producer. Mott is most certainly NOT a one trick pony.

    Hey Gary,

Why does a lurker wait almost 700 episodes to come out?

Watched and enjoyed most of your shows. You make it all look too easy. I just love your far fetched descriptors. The wine establishment spits upon you.

Missed some shows lately (been researching an IM business), so I didn’t realise that it was nearly time for youand Lizzie to have your baby. It’s the best thing ever, especially when you’re no longer a feckless youngster. hope everything goes smoothly.

Have you ever had Banyuls on the show?

    Thanks and good luck.
