In many respects, your dad reminds me of my dad. My father, a child of the depression, worked his butt off, rose to a very good job, but…….always brown-bagged it to work. Couldn’t understand the need to spend his money for a lunch. Was wasteful in his eyes. Kinda like you dad insisting your not throwing out the left over wine in his glass. A different era indeed.

Great show! I had more fun watching this one than almost any other WLTV episode I can think of.

By the way, what happened to the spreadsheet (“Gary’s Ratings” at the top of the site)? It’s been giving me “Error 404 – Not Found” for at least 2 weeks now. I’m kind of disappointed to see this feature go, so hopefully it’s just temporary.

QOTD: Sasha’s cellar episode sounds like a neat idea; I’d definitely watch it.

The first time I have laughed OUT LOUD during an episode in a long time: when you tried to take your Dad’s glass of wine and pour it out, so he downed it. Priceless. I am so in agreement with Sasha on that. Good wine does NOT go in the bucket!

What a great show. It’s always fun to see you two banter and especially on Father’s Day.

Gary, like you I took over the family business from my dad and got a chance to really get to know him later on in life. He passed away two months ago but I am so glad we had that chance together. Glad to see you two are so close and enjoying the moment. This was an extra-enjoyable show for me. Thanks.

Hi Gary,
It’s so neat to see the way you and your father interact. You can take jabs at each other and no hurt feelings, then the next thing we see is you popping your dad with another kiss. The love between you two is amazing and I commend you for being so open in expressing that. Perhaps it’s somewhat cultural that makes it easier for you, but whatever the reason, you and your dad are great together.

Enjoyed the tastings in this episode.

Keep up the great work in WLTV, because I sure appreciate it man.

Mad props to Sasha and I second the idea of having Wine and Politics with Sasha dot tv. Politics always goes better when people have something to drink with. This is the essence of democracy.

Great show!!! Long time lurker, firt time poster. I’m a big fan of Jimmy Valvano’s speech at the ESPYs where he reminds us that every day is complete only when we laugh, think, and are moved to tears. I thank you for providing the impetus for these three emotions in a half hour internet broadcast. I really enjoyed the love and closeness that was so evident in watching you and your father’s interaction. I was reminded as to how important family is, and how I should treasure my time with my dad.

QOTD: Definitley need some more Sasha shows. Would love to see your dad in his cellar – even if he gets poltical.

Almost forgot to ask: What’s up with not giving your Dad the “big-ass glass” for Father’s Day?

Great to see Sasha join for Fathers Day. I doubt he’d carry his own show very far, but it would be fun to do a special episode in his cellar – maybe an All in the Family episode with AJ (Mom & Lizzy??) to celebrate Misha’s first month or tooth or smile.
By the way, you ate like a beast as well this show – wolfing down hunks of cheese and sausage, so give your Dad a break! It would have been nice to get your feedback on the pairing interactions.

Gary this is why you shouldn’t stop making WLTV Eps…That was an all time classic. Your old man is a legend. KUDOS to you Gary, you do so much for the vaynernation, its a credit to you, your family & your passion…I’m pumped !!!

I’m 31 and just gotten into wine drinking in the last 6 months or so. I was looking for wine information on google and easily found your show – great work promoting! btw Gary – You’ve built a career that would transcend the wine world into anything you put your heart into. I believe we watch you because you INSPIRE people to reach for that same PASSION. I love it. Keep up the great work bro!!

p.s. Sasha, you’re great as well. I hope you do take over for Gary atleast on a bi-weekly basis — He could definitely use a break with the new baby and all.
Also, a fishing trip would be a fabulous bonding time for you both: I sincerely hope you consider it.

I would be interested to see a tasting of different level wines by one winemaker… IE the Molly Dooker family of wines or something like Torbreck. It would be interesting to see how they are scored as the price range rises.

I love my dad too. But you two are adorable.

I’ve been watching for a long time, and I must say that this episode is definitely in my top three. This was the first time I’ve ever seen you lose your composure. It was almost like a reality show. Very fun to watch.

Also, your relationship with your Dad is very similar to the one I share with my father. We love each other dearly, but there is no way we can sit down together and talk for more than 15 minutes without getting into a huge argument. Anyhow, you and Sasha both have incredibly huge hearts, and it’s obvious that you love each other very much.
