Gary V….. I guess I am a lurker but I leave comments, mostly when you tell me to. So I love WLTV. I don’t remember how I came to find it but I’m so glad I did. I have no cable TV so hulu.com and http://tv.winelibrary.com is my main source of weeknight entertainment. I just want to thank you for doing the show, you have taught me everything I know about wine. I have done two secret packs (election and Christmas of this year) so much fun for myself, friends and family I shared with. I also have “Crush It” on pre-order, looking froward to that.
Now I want to say two thing 1) do more blind tasting. 2) you should somehow collaborate with Adam Carolla. He has a pretty successful podcast and he has said he likes his red wine. He would love your passion and to learn a thing or two

LODI REPRESENT!!! (And El Dorado County) The local Zins are comfort food. With a punch. Supersaturated neutron jam, baby.
QOTD #1: The trick to coloring within the lines is to also be the one who drew the lines in the first place.
QOTD #2: Folks like me and wine — I’m usually looking at the $8-15 range. If I ever break out of that, it’s maybe once a year. This is still a privilege — I still have a great time learning about wine, and doing food combining and just plain drinking the stuff. However, it sometimes does feel like there are different universes going on. (I’m frequently aware, when driving through Napa, that there are individual wines in the neighborhood that cost more than my car, even with the new radiator.) Is there anything my wine experience has in common with people who drink $40+ wines regularly? Or for whom cash ain’t no object? How are we similar? Or different?
Re. Cream. OK I guess, but I prefer Clapton unplugged.
P.S. I’m still laughing with the gent who won the parody contest about his picking up some “struggle” in the lemons in the lemonade.

LOL alot. Great show.
No more Starducks references please. They don’t need the advertizing and they have screwed the coffee world.
You’re pretty tight on the scores today. 90 plus for a very well balanced Cab from Napa’s Famous Stags Leap region? For under 20 bones! Not an oakchip in the whole bottle? Normally you(not me)would have splinters all over your palate.
Throw a dog a 92 please!
Dr T in NC
Glad to see you back nearly full time. Know you’re busy, but I do enjoy the show. I could make lots of suggestions for shows, but you seem to steer clear of those areas!

Brian. The fridge is probly not the best place but if it’s clean and not stinky it will work. Couldn’t you hide it in a closet or somewhere?

This is my first time leaving a comment, so this is for Vaynerchuk and Mott cause i love this show.
STOD: On Sunday one of the most important soccer matches in USA soccer history will be happening. Everyone needs to watch this match because the men on that field will be represent this country and I want to see some national pride just like the rest of the world shows for their players and countries. So check it 2pmET on ESPN. Just Do It.

Watched several “throwback” epsiodes over the last few weeks, including #16 with the 2003 Egelhoff Cab. Based on your recommendation, I purchased 6 bottles of this and popped my first one two nights ago. You couldn’t have been more right on this one. Even three years after that episode, still very tannic but unreal in the glass. Glad I have several more, and thanks for the continues good advice.

I said it 100 times, you are the reason I went into wine. You passion and casual manner made me go past the stuffiness of the wine world. I live in Cambridge, England, the haven of posh and stuffy people you see… Please keep up the show, I know it is getting harder with the family and all the things going on in your life, but this is the best wine show, be it online or TV. No kissing arse, I am calling it as it is too. One thing I would love, since I am a bit of a foody, is more on wine-food pairings. Keep it up GV, you are changing the wine world; if not the world, at least you changed MY wine world.
All the best my friend.

I think alot of expensive wines are hit and miss. Unless you really know it’s gonna be good, like if you could taste it, or trust Gary, and who wouldn’t it can be very disapointing. Enjoy your jammy zins at under 15. It’s a bargain. Once in a while I’ll put out 30 or forty for a big juicy cab but you’re not missing that much.

I think you illegaly edited something spicy out of todays show. Can we guess?

2nd Comment in two days for me. We don’t have a Costco close to where I live but quoting from Animal House , the movie, “knowledge is good”. Gary, I love the show. I am new to “the internets'”most passionate wine show” so I don’t know if you have done vertical wine tastings before but I think that would be a cool thing.

oh, one last thing, from yesterday night I can proud myself that I have now watched all your WLTV episodes, I only started watching 6 months ago, and had a lot of catching up to do. It is amazing how your on camera persona evolved from episode 1 to now. I think around the mid hundreds you started bringing the thunder
GV, I think it would be great if you wore your green wristband, as green indicates solidarity with the striking Iranians. You already changed your Twitter icon to green.

Yes, it really is bugging me, even though I’m trying to tell myself it isn’t. Trash my earlier comment; this one’s more important. And, I am going to stop watching the show, unless I hear back about this in my email. Life’s hard enough without actually choosing to expose myself to this sort of stuff.
QOTD #3: Because somebody (female) has to say it:
The analogy about “weekday” versus “Saturday Night” “dating” further convinces me that the “sexual revolution” has been one gigantic mistake, and that all women should from now on refuse to have sex with anyone until after they’re married. Not kidding. This is the only way for a woman to be sure she’s actually on the “value-added” woman list, that she’s not hated so much she’s actually been “ranked” as a “70-pointer” or a “Wednesday night” diversion.
Frequently, it seems the assumption on the Internet is that it is one big guy’s locker room, and that women are only tolerated, and only welcome if we’re willing to listen to this sort of stuff. And, the assumption is that this hatred (and, it is hatred) is somehow normal or acceptable. Why, why, why do men hate us so much? You have female guests. You talk about women winemakers. You frequently talk about how much you love your family, which, one would assume, includes loving a female person. And, then, you say this — that there are somehow women who it’s OK to lie to, or to use, or to think of as somehow inferior or substandard? So, are women welcome to watch the show or not? And, if we are, tell me again why we should even bother. With a 50% divorce rate, the idea of presuming to rate women as if we were disposable, as if men really have the moral option to consume us and then throw us away if we’re not “worth dating on Saturday” just isn’t funny. Where the heck did this hatred come from all of a sudden?

Love the show Gary. Only started watching about 6 months ago and I’ve learned so much. Keep up the good work.
One biased suggestion: You should review some more local wines to the East coast, possibly even of the NY Hudson Valley. 🙂

SOTD:
-statement: “I always bring my game when I am researching or designing for new clients, it’s just better for them to know your energy first hand, it may be a little heavy and intense, but seldom scary, great clients appreciate value”. God I love my job.
Cheers Gary, keep this show going, it may sway from one thing to another but there is just so much stuff related to wine that you have a winner here, no matter if you spill some vino on the table or have a boring guest, it’s all good.
AaronB
Hey Gary, no need to apologize for wasting wine. Don’t EVER feel guilty about being successful. It’s not like you’re some useless playboy pissing away your trust fund. You worked your ass off to get to where you are, and you deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labor any way you want to (within legal limits, of course). If you want to buy a 1982 Château Lafite and pour it down the sink, I say go for it!

I learned more about Geography studying wines than in School. Who’s with me?

There, see what you have done: you have broken Brandon M’s heart you lousy bastard! On another note we all need to give Kell Brigan a group Vayner-hug.

Good evenin! Just a quick note to request a more frequent effort to identify some tasty wines below $20. This message comes from a poor grad student who had the (mis)fortune of working at a wine store before beginning my doctoral path. I.E., its frustrating having acquired a taste for yummy wines outside a student’s budget! Better yet, come on down to Richmond VA, and experience a burgeoning wine culture – one that is still pretty mindful of those with interested palates, but tighter pocket books!
STOD: Carpe diem, we are the museum of the present, start enjoyin’ it!

line of the day – ‘big and bright…if you like…brig fruit’
Old school episode with no messing. Just the smell, and the taste of several wines. I think GV would describe this effort as ‘focussed’.
