I’ll watch in a second. I believe there was a Gavi episode last year at this time. That means we should also revisit Gruner Veltliner, Greco di Tufo, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Colombard/Ugni Blanc, and some other summer sippers. Please.

Merlot is underated and therefore a good QPR sometimes here in Cali. Though it gets less attention than the cabs at many of the wineries.

Nice one, want to try one Broglia La Meirana Gavi 2008 but it’s 21,5$CAN. QOTD: White Châteauneuf du Pape aren’t as famous as red but are really nice wine.

Mott – The sound sucks. All we hear is echo. Get a sound system that works. GV can afford it.

Great episode. I really appreciate you giving time to “obscure” grape varietals. It makes wine less intimidating when new wine drinkers (like myself) must contend with the Gorgon that is the pantheon of wine varieties on that store shelf. Especially because Hollywood only talks about Pinot noir, chardonney, and merlot (Maybe Cab Sav). Anyway, it’s encouraging. Hell, you’ve turned me into a Malbec drinker which I was probably to scared to try before (my bravery level is the equivalent of Scooby-Doo when it comes to wine.) Thanks a lot Gary.

QotD: Baseball is underrated. Marriage is underrated. The Goonies is underrated. (“HEY YOU GUUUUUUUUUYYYYS!” Not Shakespeare but nice.)

  • What’s up with the peeling paint in the background?!?

QOTD: Derby Vineyards in Paso Robles. Nobody, even people in the area seems to know about them. Female vintner and, IMO, great feel for blends. Love the Mocab, and their Fifteen10.

QOTD: Rose wine, Jazz, being able to master playing an instrument. I’ll stop there.

Though very amusing, you need to replace the plastic washbucket with another Jets one–maybe a Giants one for Mott.

I dont’ know what is funnier the Jets, the 3rd best team in the East, underated or an elf playing basketball….

QOTD: Good independant music, not the stuff they push at you on the radio

    Randi: +1

QOTD: Many under-$10 bottles of wine are under-rated.

In any price range, Muscadet is underrated. That’s another white you can revisit on WLTV.

  • QOTD: Gary, Austrian white wines are HEAVILY underrated. You need to do a Gruner Veltliner episode with all the Terry Thiese wines. You should try to get Terry to come do an episode with you, that would be one hell of a show!!

    Cheers!

P.S. Having the Daniel Schuster SB right now. Besides being a marvelous guest who has a story for everything, he makes a damn good bottle of wine.
