The guests keep getting better. Great show. How about having Mott as a guest since he seems to be educating his palate during the episode anyways.

  • Stud of a guest. Prices really hit that ouch button on my favorite Mariner hat, so I’ll just try the sausages instead.

QOTD: Can’t say anything bad because who knows when it’ll happen to me.

Great show, and I loved Vance’s charisma. Sounds like the wines were great as well. QOTD: I better hope the world thinks well of bald guys, as the hairline has been retreating for a few years.

  • That is the kind of show that makes a lurker like me leave a comment!

That was a great show, great wine related guest! For me its refreshing to learn more about the wine making & grape growing side of the business, not something I know a lot about.

QOTD: Much love and respect for the bald people of the world!

Superb! I really feel bad for commenting late on this episode…it deserved better! Awesome show, Vance was a class act. Thanks for the show!
QOTD: As long as they embrace it, I think it is a beautiful thing:)

Wow! What a great show. I really enjoyed Mr. Sharp, and I love to hear a story like his. I wish him and his family all the success in the world. However, the capper for me was the mention of Scarface. Immediately, memories of The Diary crept back into my consciousness…and that of Bushwick Bill and the gun-went-off-in-her-hand story of how he lost his eye. The more I watch you Gary, the more I think we have a parallel love of the finer things in life!

Nice show GV. Vance is great.

I wanted to say I think you’re interview skills are superb. You cut in when you have to, and you let the guest tell their story. Perhaps you could ask guest up front about their experience with your show. I find myself wondering if they watch or not?

QOTD: Fully bald=cool, bald but trying to sport a mullet=not cool.

  • This is quite possibly one of the most refreshing episodes I’ve seen. Gary, your talk with Vance was insightful and, enjoyably, not all about wine. I always say that the wine is all the more special when you know the story behind it, and this is no exception.

QOTD: Luckily for me, my grandfather died at 65 with a head full of blonde hair, so I’ll take it…from the first time I got my head shaved in bootcamp, I realized I just don’t have a pretty enough grape to sport the high-speed, low-drag hairstyle like Vance.

  • GARY, another amazing guest, this guy is real, he is easy to listen. He reminds me a lot of my dad, which is always a great feeling.

QOTD: Bald is awesome, not only do they look sharp, but with my experience, bald guys usually have bad ass facial hair, and anyone that can grow a nice beard / mustache is amazing!

    Gary,

Great episode, great guest. One thing: the next time you interview Vance, you might want to shy away from the phrase, “I’m going to call a spade a spade.”

QOTD: Bald guys are solid. Studies show that juries trust bald lawyers more than ones with facial hair.

Long time lurker, first time commenter. Never tasted wine (besides champagne), found this through props given at TechCrunch. Several things… Episode 148 rocks, watched 4 times already. Gary, you’ve got to stop molesting your guests. From the top of my head you got the guy from Bonny Doon (sp?) with the ponytail, Jim Cramer I believe, and now rubbing Mr. Sharp’s head. Hey, I grew up playing with He-man action figures too, but I’m your elder at age 35. These are people not toys, Gary. I’m not like the guy who claims your Russian heritage is overbearing, on the contrary, regardless of American politeness conventions I find your realness and passion fun, inspiring, and pleasant. I just wanted to point that out to you because your guests love you too much to ever say anything, but hey, their sports by coming on such a passionate new media show and you’re going to scare them away from us Internet folk. Keep up the great work.

QOTD: bald equals distinguished for me.

Fun show! I really want some sausage now, and I’m curious about dipping it in dark chocolate. I wonder if it would work with other kinds of sausage. Guess I’ll have to try it and see.

QOTD: With a nice-shaped head, bald can look really good. It works for Bruce Willis and it works for Vance!

Fantastic show! Right up there with the Hendrik Thoma show in my book. Vance must come back! Going out to find some Sharp Cellars tonight?

QOTD – If your head is the right shape, go for it, embrace it and wear it proud.

Dear Gary–I’m a big fan. It’s amazing how you have created your own brand. Please, please, easy with the guests. Heidi Barrett is one thing but the sausage guy is quite another. More Vaynerchuk and fewer guests. Better you alone in a hotel room raiding the honor bar than a dude schilling sausages on a wine show.

    Best… Guest… Ever.

QOTD: I think people are reverse-racists when it comes to baldness. Black guys look good bald, but white guys… not so much.

Vance Sharp what a guest! I love discovering new characters in the wine world. Nice one Gary, he even put up you talking over him the whole show 😉

No but, so cool. I seriously want to head up there and see his vineyards.

  • I am going to have to get some Sharp Cellar wines and try them. Whatever the wine world is doing, you can bet that there are people out there that want to enjoy life just as much. You get to create wine in sunny California Wine Country.. Nothing is better than that.

QOTD: I would have to agree, although i have not been bald, I do have friends that look good with shaved heads.

Did you say Raiders game? I’m in too, when and where! G R E A T S H O W – really enjoyed Mr. Sharp. It was refreshing to hear a real life story instead of just wine tasting. I don’t know Vance but I feel as though I can trust him. Please fill us in regarding October, hell with the thunder cruise — let’s play ball and grill Hawaiian Portuguese.

Qotd: depends on the hat size
