line of the day – ‘My wife has two nurses’

This guy might be a legend in the business and have a great back story, but he was just a little bit past it to make the show an entertaining one. GV did his best to tee the guy up but at 93 years of age waddayagonnado?

Gary, loved the episode. Right after busting your chops about too much Crush It talk you deliver an episode that reminded me of why I started watching WLTV. Very refreshing and much appreciated!

  • I loved him and I am going to have to get some of that homemade Barberone for my great uncle. Just his type of wine, red and lots of it.

QOTD: Not where it is today but my wine will be older and hopefully stored well so that it’s still good.

Great guest, it was entertaining to hear about the wine business back in the day.

Qotd: It will be more of a global world than a world made of individual countries. And way more information at our fingertips.

Thanks for this episode. We now have a permanent record of a great part of American history.

QOTD: If we continue down this path recently started, there will be no motivation to achieve since there will be no reward for doing so. Your store will sell only one brand of wine called “Government” and it will come in two types, “Red” and “White”.

    Great episode.

    Answer to the QOD:
I am very optimistic, I think we are heading to a golden age. I think in 25 years we will be independent of foreign energy (oil). I think we have huge breakthroughs in therapies and cures from all kinds of disease. I think we will reach into space farther than ever before, we will learn to be more tolerant and less selfish.

I think we are heading toward a golden age (the changes to get there will freak some people out, but we are on the way).

Yay!!!!! Hip hop HOrray! You followed Thumper’s Mom’s advice this time and bit your tounge about the wine. Great job Gary. It is just so neat to see a man of your age be so patient with an older loquacious gentleman. I would have wanted to rush him along, but you just let him share his story. Nice to see someone who cherishes his elders. I hope we can all learn from you and sit down and enjoy the company of a youth challenged man or woman πŸ™‚

QOTD: Our world will be much much more connected. Video conferences will be much more common than pure audio calls. There will be fewer languages as we all will need to communicate with more cultures. Americans will be more multilingual. I mean common, languages aren’t all going to go away over night. Thanx again Gary you are the MAN!!!

Great Show! 93! Ridiculous. I thought he was late 70’s, early 80’s maybe. Good job gary on getting the guests. you’ve been interviewing some awesome ones. Gary, can you bring back the “changing the wine world…whether they like it or not!”? you haven’t done it in a long while, but it was so cool.

QOTD: Mott is WLTV’s new host and receives golden globe for best online show world wide. Gary becomes the waterboy for the Jets. hahaha. just kidding. Mott will only get a nominee.

QOTD: The Vaynerchuk franchise will have expanded to having neon signs that say “Giggaillions Served” “Fly-Thru open late”.
Lil’Misha will be the first female owner of the NY Jets and make her pappy proud. Climate change makes ALL of Canada the best wine region on Earth and abolishes all liquor tax.

Gary’s Cyborg Knee learns how to talk.

Ha! It got a little awkward at the end there but it was so charming. This was a GREAT episode. This man has so much history. Speaking personally, I get so swept up in the day to day business that I forget that this is an old business – there have been so many ups and downs before me. Good job on getting an excellent guest. And 93 years old! He has such a great sense of humor about his age. My grandparents are up there with him and all they do is complain and make fatalistic remarks about how all their friends are dying. This guy deserves a medal.

QOTD: how things will go in the next 25 years? Big question! In terms of what will be reported on tv and stuff, it’s just going to be more of the same horribleness. But there’s always great stuff happening outside, on the periphery. I mean, America is clearly showing signs of falling apart, poverty on the rise, an aversion to sharing, being positive, etc. But little small groups of people persevere and make beautiful films and music and wine. These are tumultuous times – revolutionary concepts and results will arise.

Great show and outstanding guest the history Mr.Opici went through is just mind boggleing. The changes he saw in the wine industry should be in a book.

QOTD: There is cause for worry here. The me generation is gone or is it. That will affect change either for good or bad.

Gary, this was a wonderful guest and probably your best interview ever. It’s great to hear someone speak about the US wine industry who has that kind of perspective on it.

qotd: I hope that in 25 years we are able to look back on today and see how foolish we were with our lack of action regarding the environment.

  • Excellent guest and show. Opici were some of the first jugs I ever knew when i started drinking wine.

QOTD: I believe the world will change a bit, more countries will reorganize and split, hard conflicts will dwindle but smaller nuance confrontations will become more and more common. We will finally have a couple of roadable airplanes and the portable communication devices will evolve into one sole multipurpose gadget. Wine will be the rage of the times still.

QOTD: Its either going to bad or good, there will be no in between.
