lines of the day – ‘dissecting these wines for my palate (which is why you watch the show – not for these clowns) and ‘don’t touch the Jets spit bucket EVER AGAIN’

Not my favourite format…I don’t particularly want to hear the views of Joe Public, and once again the sound didn’t work on the audience

Hi gary, thought I would shed my “lurker” status. Great work with the show!

QOTD: Australia: im Aussie so have tried heaps of australian wine but i think my favourite would be a toss up between, 2006 principia pinot noir and the Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon (the Moss Wood Amy Cab Sauv is awesome too!!)

New Zealand: something that has only just been released and im sure will be massive! 2007 man o war Dreadnought Syrah from Waiheke Island. This is the first release and im sure will be the biggest thing coming out of new zealand for a long time!

Big winner for today seems to be the lady in red, and I would concur. High deliciousness factor.

QOTD: Nothing to add – I’ve been exploring mostly wines from Spain, Italy and Argentina for a while now.

QOTD: 2007 Shiraz Cabernet, Jip-Jip Rocks (Limestone Coast Australia)
I don’t delve very often into Australia or New Zealand, but have been forcing myself to try new things since “meeting” Gary here at Wine Library TV a few years ago … yes I know I have been lurking awhile.

  • Better show today than yesterday. The lady in red is very pretty; kind of like my Concepcion but with a couple years more on her. QOTD: Australia is exploding! Australian wines are really hitting the spot for me lately. I love the Mollydookers.

  • There are to many wines to try to get a complete picture of a country or even a region, but is always nice to see and hear of those numerous wines.

QOTD: Most astonishing wine from australia was the Brown Brothers Durif 2004. It smelled and tasted like black currant from get go till the longlasting end.

The lady in red dress much better than that chooch with the fez
still hard to here guess without volume controlling
Crawfords not bad for the price

  • QOTD: It wasn’t the best but it was my favorite because it got me looking for wines outside of France and California. 1996 Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon. Stocked up and it aged well over the years. Their wines have been not so good since then but at $6, it wasn’t much of a risk to try and glad I did, that year. 🙂 Have to say not good since and I stopped trying with their 2002 vintage. Gave up hope. 🙁

A free shipping code for a week that your going to get caca from your wife if she watches this episode. The brunette next to you was too flirtatious, too concurring; the only time you had a disagreement is when she gave her opinion before you. Girly–Girl indeed.

Bravo on your focus and stuttering only once or twice. Wag of the finger for throwing the men under the bus.

    Nonetheless, great show.

QOTD: Only have been tasting wines for three months, tasted only one Australian: Jacob’s Creek Shiraz for 12 bones. 88 pts.

have always love Giesen…very grapefruitty as well as grassy. St. Supery from Napa compares here in the states. Really can’t go wrong with the Marlborough Region.

    Another Great Show Dude….

Firstly, the lady in the red dress is HOT…., Secondly, I the audio still wasn’t 100% today and finally – I love how you have just random wine peeps on the show – They represent most of the wine consumers out there & and its great to hear there views on wines. Good stuff

qotd.. Best Asutrlian Wine ever: 1995 Jasper Hill Georgia Paddock Heathcote Shiraz, words can’t explain!!!

  • I like these shows because its great to see what other people think about the same wine that you are tasting. More group tastings in an informal atmosphere would be fun to see.

QOTD: 2005 Marquis Philips “The Grail of Lisa” Shiraz South Australia

Are you just getting people off the street to do these shows?
They don’t seem to be Vayniac’s or know much about wine.
    QOTD:
New Zealand – Kumeu River Chardonnay (from about 5 or 6 years ago)
    Australia – Amon Ra 2005

  • ON STRIKE again!! No comments or QOTD answers until audio is fixed.

Mott, you can use that mic that’s on the table, but you have to turn on the switch on the camera for it to work!!!

    Enjoyed the show.

QOTD: The Australian/New Zealand wine I enjoyed the most was the 2005 Amisfield Pinot Noir Central Otago (NZ).

Nice episode, but I still don’t care what the guests have to say. I would rather not have you do this kind of thing.

qotd: It’s hard to name just one. Clarendon Hills Grenache (forget the vineyard and vintage), Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay 2001, 2005, Betts & Scholl Black Betty Shiraz (vintage?), Betts & Scholl Chronique Grenache ’04 have all been excellent. I haven’t had any from New Zealand that I thought compared to these although I’m sure there are some Pinot Noirs that would.

  • I was disappointed that the wines didn’t do well, but liked watching this episode because of your passion and charisma – and the Lady In The Red Dress was a nice addition LOL!

QOTD: Sorry, but I have never had wines from outside the US, or California for that matter ;-/
