89/100

line of the day – ‘I got zero, and I have a giant nose’

At last the sound has been sorted out…but still not a great format (for my palate)

Qotd: I would have to say the rose. i know this is going to sound lame since its a quote from Brett Michaels, but ‘every rose has its thorn’ and I feel like that makes it meaningful in many different ways. And also more fitting in the nature of life and death.

  • Sound gets better every day. This group was a little MEH! Yesterday’s group was much better ;). Beaujolaius is always an easy sell, like cranberry wine cocktail for the most part. Always good at Thanksgiving.

    QoTd: Honeysuckle.

WHAT’S WITH THE LACK OF COMMENTS. YOU BETTER START CALLING PEOPLE OUT AGAIN.

  • This has been a change of pace this week on the show, which is okay. But I am excited to go back to normal. You know, like after a vacation, you just want to go home. Get us back home GV.

QOTD: Nothing creative here, I like the Rose.

  • My favorite flower is the iris. Any iris is good. I do prefer plain petals to frilly petals though.

  • QOTD: A Daisy, of course.

I’m going to keep that Beaujolais with fish idea in mind if ever I see it a restaurant. I’m thinking it might go best with something like salmon or tuna since those are meatier fishes.

QOTD: and I’m not ashamed to admit, my favorite flower is fuscia.

  • Beaujolais for me is a dear wine, never had white Languedocs only red.

    Good show.

QOTD: I think Chrysanthemums and tulips are my favorites (close second are Sunflowers) although I eat Roses on a regular basis, eat many flowers in fact, the Agave flower when recently bloomed is fantastic.

Dissapointing wines this time? Beaujolais is often a good pairing with fried fish for mer and it’s normal scent of strawberrys is very attractive. So is 86 a good score for it?

QOTD: Flowers are very different, just as wine. Roses are intricate in their architecture, honeysuckle tremendous in it’s smell, orchids erotic, tulips have fabulous color scheme, therefore I don’t have one favourite flower, just as I guess GV don’t have one favourite wine 🙂

I think even with no real standouts in the wines tasted this was the best episode this week. Sound was GREATLY improved (YEA Mott!!), you seemed to be really into the subject and I really liked the discussion among the guests. Wishing I could get together with a bunch of people for a tasting!
QOTD: I love the jasmine that has the pink tinge to it. Smells sooo good

I am not a beaujolais fan. I love the greater structure of good burgundy but not the prices. Languedoc is a favourite area of France of mine because the QPR is often great – good grenache predominant much cheaper than Chateauneuf-du-Pape. IMO Chateau Negly is one of the better Languedoc producers, its Falaise and up through its range. The South West of France is the other part of France to seek out good value.

QOTD – lavendar, a la Provence, is my favourite flowering plant, but my favourite flower is the Old English rose.

I enjoy beaujolais a lot and think it is a good value. It is just hard to find much of it in wine stores. My favorite flower is the rose.

Good show Gary! I have a hard time finding good Languedoc wines but have to say I’m super excited about California and Washington putting out single-varietal marsannes and roussanes. Some delicious stuff.

QOTD: My favorite flower is the dahlia.
