I like Dolcetto, but I never seem to drink them.

QOTD: It’s hard to beat a Barolo from Paolo Scavino!

Really G.V. your not man enough to come on the show and say something about how your QB fell on his face yesterday. If your going to come on and brag when times are good man up when they fail.

I liked the Amarone style wine we had last week. Allegrinis Pallazo de Torre or something like that. Great deal for 16 bones. I need to try the real Amarones but am afraid at the prices I see. Time for another Amarone show. SASHA!
I would love to try the Barolos and the Brunellos but again, scared buy the prices and bad selection at most stores.
Where is the Cellar Show Staring Sasha?

wow, this must have been one serious day of taping, 7 shows in a row with the same shirt.

qotd: of the wines i’ve had, i have to go with a valpolicella you had on the show a while back, the 2005 caterina zardini. the quality and deliciousness of that wine, especially with food, just blew me away when i had it this summer. and for $20, easily worth it.

QOTD: Hmmm…I like a lot of Italian wines….Moltopiciano De Abruzzo seems to consistently please me, I’m also partial to Dolcetto with pizza. If you had said Italian White, it would have been pretty easy. Pecorino…that stuff rocks my face off.

Nice show. The shorter, more focused format is great.
I’ve had some Dolcettos. Some good, some a little too light.

    QOTD: Barolo baby!
Seems most responses are Piedmont region, may influenced by the show? I would have said Barolo regardless.

What are the three steps in any wine tasting? Simple!–

    Swirl, Whirl, and Hurl.

(Swirl = smell; whirl = taste; hurl = spit..as into a Jets bucket)

    QOTD: Aged Amarones.

The new “focused” episodes rock! Very good QPR – i.e. lots of good wine bumpf (thunder) in a reasonable amount of time (price). And I have no trouble hearing the audio!!

    Cheers,

Is the Friday “Taste-Along-with-Gary” already dead? And, how many of these shows did you tape and put in the can? 😉

QotD: Had a Regaleali Nero D’Avola…I liked that wine a lot.

QOTD: Poggio Al Moro (2007), Enrico Santini, Bolgheri. Breathtaking wine especially with spicey meatballs. Full bodied, rich fruit, chocolate notes with a long finish. Got to have food with Italian wines.

Loved this episode. I am a big fan of the dolcetto and feel its great quality for the dollar. My all time favorite wine is an Amarone. I also had an awesome 2001 Ascheri Barolo. But hands down Amarone changed my life in the wine world.

    All the best!
